Tiptronic reliablity?
Curious to see what kind of reliability folks have gotten out of the Tip gearboxes. The wife does not drive manual, and I have considered getting here a Boxster thats a couple years old with a Tip. 2001-2003 Boxster, maybe 40kish on the odometer.

92 C2 tip with 170k miles, and no problems.

lol. Not to many tip drivers in these parts. Not surprised.

For the wife, eh?
So you have some making up to do, ever since she found out about your lust for Hillary. btw, I think it's pretty stong box . .. the tiptronic. . . eeewww |
It really is nice for a daily driver and for the time you travel with your wife who can't do a stick.

My 968 is a tip. The previous ride was a 944 w/ manual trans. Getting in and around downtown Seattle was a royal PITA with the hills and people pulling up so close that I ended up using the handbrake a great deal. I'm in Kidnap (Kitsap) county now, and have aspirations of a manual 968 w/ LSD, but whenever I go downtown, I don't miss it.
Mine has about 75K on it, and it is a 93 968. One small leak that cost more time than parts money. Micah |
On hills, with a stick I just put on my brake and tell the guy to come around me.:)
