Has anyone ever "reported" a car to Carfax?
After reading the thread on the Katrina soaked 911, I ran a Carfax on the car. I noticed the report has a link to a page where you can tell them what you know about the car: mileage, condition, and a free form comment area for, "Tell us what you know about this car. Was it well maintained? Has it been damaged? How did it drive?"
Has anyone ever reported a bad PPI? Has anyone seen a Carfax report that had contributed comments? Just wondering if they print whatever you tell them, or if there's a vetting process, or what. |

I'm just thinking this would be a great way to combat sellers of questionable cars on Ebay. It seems that these guys like to conceal their bidders identities to avoid people who've seen or PPIed the car from tipping potential victims as to condition.
Since it's pretty common to run a Carfax before purchasing a car on Ebay, posting comments to Carfax seems like a great way of protecting the Porsche community from sleazy dealers/sellers. |
