Students - Ya gotta luv'm ...NOT!
So my first class took there mid-terms today. I was an open book exam. In fact all the questions could only be answeared using the book - unless you had it memorized you needed the book. I told the class each time we met that the book was manditory and required to take the test. The was needed for proper analysis. Out of 20 students, who do you think didn't bring the book? BTW2 - The syllibus stated that the book was required to bring to the mid-term.
I hade to turn the 2 out - nothing I could do but follow the rules set forth. I know, I'm a jackoff...oh well... |
AWWWW Give the poor Babys another chance won't ya...

NO GRADES FOR YOU!
|
Mommy and Daddy woulda given them another chanch
|
Nah, once they go off to college, they are on their own and need to know that. It's their first taste of real world expectations.
I'd do the same at college level. At 7-8 grade, I worked with them a little. |
Surprised nobody tried to guess at who forgot their book and also who was all sorts of broken up...
|
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're not an english teacher
|
F 'em.
|
Ok, I'll bite. I suppose it would have to be one of the females, I guess they would be more likely to cry than one of the guys. Maybe the hot one who thinks she has the act down pat from times before.
|
I agree with Marv. Actually I think it was the hot blonde and one of the anglo male americans?
|
White guy forgot his book, hot chick cried. What do I win?
Open book midterms?! How do I get in your class? I love open book tests. |
Were these the same two to whom you gave a zero?

Its fuchin college, not a Bruce Bruce Springsteen concert. They need to buck up and get on the program.
BTW I am a 21 year old 3rd semester ID major with lackluster grades. |
All right, so which two?
|
My bet is on one of two slackers from the previous post and the crying episode suggests one of the girls... I go with the hottie... probably has got her through up to now.

I used to give open everything/unlimited time finals on occasion too. Students *hated* them... |
a few years ago i was taking a course (I like continuing my education even though I generally hold acedemia in contempt).
On the first day we were assigned work groups. One of the "students" in my work group didn't make it to the first three or four classes. She finally shows up, but without any books or study guides or preparation at all. Half way through the course she finally buys the books and materials, but doesn't unwrap them. She says she wants to sell them as new after the course ??????? Back to the study group... Most of the grade was based on a project done by the study group. I took the lead and started the research and eventually wrote the whole paper and basically developed the entire project. I didn't mind really, it was easier that way than trying to work as a team with ding-bats and this way we were assured an A. Anywho, the study group member who refused to crack a book eventually lets the cat out of the bag: She was on long term disability from her job. She showed no outward signs of disability at all and told us stories of an active life, even one about how she couldn't get together with the study group because she had to move and couldn't fine anyone to help her. The bill for the classes and books was coming out of the taxpayer's pockets. At the end of the course I turned in the paper and project, her name was on it and she got an A even though she did not contribute a single bit to it. She *****ed and complained because her name was last on the cover page and she wanted it to be first. She even pulled the race card, accusing me of putting her name last because of her race. She ranted on and on because a black single mother doesn't stand a chance today etc etc. No one had shown any disrespect to her at all, if anything just the opposite. BTW, the names were in alphabetical order and I told her that, but I don't think she understood what that means. That my friends, is how and why we have stereotypes. |
