I saw a million bucks at a casino in Shreveport, LA last month. It was $100 bills, ten feet high and about 100 feet long on a wall under glass.

Paul Allen, #6 on the list? He's the owner of the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and The Portland Trailblazers (NBA) The trailblazers are bleeding red to the tune of $100 million per year or so. So...he's asking the taxpayers of Portland, also the taxpayers of Oregon as a whole, to "help him out" a bit. Is it any wonder that some folks have a wee sense of outrage over this?
Far as I'm concerned, the team can leave Oregon...and don't let the door slam 'em on their collective rears on the way out.

He lives just down the street. Ya want me to leave a nasty gram? . . gotta walk the dog somewhere.

Seriously, Allen is okay in my book. I think all the owners are req'd (NBA) right now to shake-down their cities. Seattle has Schultz (Starbux) asking for 200Million . . for a new Arena, cuz the one they are in now is like 3 years old - can you imagine the squalor?

Yeah, we tried that up here. . .baseball.. . .voted DOWN a new stadium. Not only did the polticians decide a new stadium was in order, they said: "let make it with a GIANT free-span roof . . .OH WAIT, that's not expensive enough (the tax payers did vote this down) Let's make it a giant CONVERTABLE-TOP free-span roof. "

. . .but at least they schedule the game times so that, on game days, local rush-hour traffic is completely FUCHED.

It's like the tax, that taxes in so many ways.

. . but hey, quite a few of the games played brings great surprise to many. . .. yep, someone wins. -riveting

Pretty obvious that we see eye to eye on this one. Let's see, if a man worth $22 BILLION loses $100 million per year on his toy sports team, he would be broke in how many years? Of course, we have to factor in themoney the taxpayers are forced to fork over in the name of "image" to the city.....ahh, the mind gets boggled.
