Video Memory
I am invited to a LAN party tomorrow. The game to be played is Battlefield 2. I have in my possession the following computers:
1) An IBM Pentium 4 2.6 ghz with a 128 mb PCI ATI Radeon video card and 1 gb of memory 2) An HP Notebook Athlon 64 2.3 ghz with a 64 mb nVidia video card with 2 gb of memory 3) A Dell Pentium 4 2.0 ghz with 128 mb AGP ATI Radeon video card and 256 mb of Rambus None of these computers are capable of running BF2. #1 has a video card that does not work with BF2 and does not have an AGP port. #2 does not have the minimum of 128 mb of video memory. #3 does not have the minimum of 512 mb of memory. I really wanted to take #2, but it doesn't have enough video memory. Rambus is too expensive for #3. The only way I can think of that I might be able to attend is to buy a new video card for #2. Any other ideas? |
Good luck finding an upgrade for #2 by tomorrow... Does it have a seperate video board?

"Any other ideas?"
Try to get invited to a Martini party. More chicks, no ram required. |
You didn't mention a budget.
ATI All-In-Wonder X800 XT 100-714200 Radeon X800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO AGP 4X/8X Video Card Around $300. Pop that baby in your IBM and kick some geek ass. Comparable Nvidia card: eVGA 256-P2-N516 Geforce 7800GT CO SE 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Card |
Yeah, new vid card for #1

The IBM has no AGP port, which severly limits its upgradability.
