Digital photo management & printing software
What is considered the 'best of breed' program these days for digital photo library management?
For my wife's office (medical practice) we need something that is easy to use -- by non-computer geek types -- but capable of effectively organizing thousands of digital pics, and most importantly has very robust printing support. Many of the programs I've used or read about seem weak in the printing area; this is certainly the case for Google Picasa which is the most recent one I've been checking out. For instance it only supports a handful of page layout options and doesn't seem to be able to print a date or other info on the photo or beneath it. At home I use something called ThumbsPlus for library management and light editing/retouching, PhotoShop for heavier editing, and the software that came with my printer (Canon Easy Photo Print) for printing; however it seems the higher-end color printers don't come with software and/or the software is focused on printing functions only, and weak on the photo management aspects. Any tips would be appreciated... |
Broad topic. Not as easy an answer as you might expect.
Look at Cumulus from Canto. http://www.canto.com/ demo url, http://62.169.6.248/Cumulus/Standard/ leave user/pass blank to log in Scott |
Thanks Scott; I'll take a look.
I forgot to clarify 2 things - for this purpose we do not need hardcore editing functions, and it's for the PC (WinXP) platform... |
