f1 starts in 30 minutes
any other fanatics up early to watch the race? can kimi make it from the back of the grid?:(
|
do not have speed right now either....I guess we really do want what we do not have!!! Last year I had it, and missed about half of the F1 races.
I guess you can't always get what you want- but we will get what we need. I will be online checking all of the results and comments in the morning and it will take care of all of my questions, I'm sure!!! |
man that sucks. i'd invite you over to watch on the plasma, but i don't think you would make it in time.
my sympathies--- gotta go. 15 min left steve:D 57 coupe 71 targa 84 coupe |

Anyone else having problems with the formula1.com live timing?
|
good exciting race, glad to see some passing, I think it is going to be an intresting season. Rosberg is Fast, so is Kimi, good to see red cars back in the game !
|
was a good race but the best thing is it all starts again.- 4 DAYS to maylasia.

I was up by 3:15 so I missed some of the pre-race but saw the whole race. Looks like this wil lbe a much better year than last. Kimi is fast. very fast. If they can just give him a real car he won't be beaten.
I can't wait until Kimi and Michael are both driving for ferrari. |
Roseberg was amazing, we will see a lot of him this season. Kimi is Kimi and the Iceman came and kicked ass. I love listening to him on the post interview, can anyone understand his monotone voice? That said I would love to sit in a pub with him I bet it would be a wild time.
I was really disapointed with Massa, he claimed to be the man that should have been at the pole but failed to deliver on race day. Next time he needs to shut up and drive. His performance was lackluster after he flatspotted his tires and got stuck in the pits. He needs to learn a lesson from Kimi and not give up. The wheel to wheel racing was awesome, lots of it. Lots of passes. Combine that with the qualifying and I think we have a great season ahead. If Kimi starts at the front and doesn't break he will be unstopable. |
Could be an exciting season ... I think the most compelling story of the race was Rosberg. Amazing drive for his first F1 start! If he can weather the GP circus, that kid has a future.

How about the first US driver in I believe 14 years.( Speed)
I think he finished 14th |
It's nice to have an American in F1. Unfortunately, while I think Speed is a very good driver, an excellent driver, I think he's in F1 because he's an American, not because he is one of the 20 best drivers in the world. Red Bull has a massive investment in F1. I think they'd very much like America to come along for the ride.
I hope Speed proves me wrong and becomes the next Mario Andretti. |
F1 is back!!! Another sign that spring is coming and 911 driving is near!!!!!
Excellent start to the F1 season. Lots of overtaking and excitement. Looking forward to the rest of the season! |
I didn't have to get up early - I have TIVO! I watched it after a good night's sleep.:D
It was good to see Ferrari back in competetive form again. |
i have dvr also. for some reason i can't watch unless it's live.

I agree that Massa needs to shut up and drive. Did you notice Schuy commented in the post race interview that he missed a good qualifying lap also.
Roseberg will definenty be one to watch this year. |
I like the new qualifying format. Makes the race strategy incredibly complex... for instance, MS's comment about the "lost lap" in qualifying; if he had that fuel, he could have made up the <2 seconds that Alonso beat him by.
It's also nice to see the tire changes come back. And Nikko Roseberg (sp?) was simply incredible. I bet he gets at least one win this year, and a couple of podiums. The V8's are going to be fun... after seeing Jacque Villeneuve blow up and catch fire, it makes me wonder just how feasible the "2 races + qualifying" rule is going to be for these things. And the focus on momentum is going to be fun to watch... now if you screw up a corner, you can't rely on the power/torque of the V10 to make up for it... you get your ass handed to you by the guy who didn't screw up. Puts a little more focus on driver ability, and adds some "racing" to it. Maybe that's why MS says he loves the new V8's and feels part of the car. And Kimi... man, I really feel for the guy. He starts at the back of the pack, and makes it to third. He was running so hard/well that everyong thought he was on low fuel at the start, and then blows everyone away by pulling a one stop race. His final statement "yeah, we knew that we started at the back of the pack but we knew we'd get some points". Damn. Once again, though, it's the same old story... reliability. It's his curse. I think they said that he's had over 30 race-ending failures in the last 4 years or something. It looks like it's going to be a really fun year. |
