New Porsche Humbucker Pickup

Did anyone else notice that this 917 engine from this angle looks almost like a humbucker pickup from a Les Paul guitar?

If more pcar enthusiasts were guitarists, maybe I'd sell these customized pickups. Ok, ok, too much time on my hands.

Boy is THAT subject line out of left field!

I see what you mean though, although, technically, wouldn't that resemble any humbucker with the cover off (unless it's a stacked single or a bar or rod or whatever they're called pickup)?

Oh dear...I didn't just type that...

You wind it, I'll buy it. While we're at it, if you can make my fingers move as deftly as a 917 is fast, I'll pay you a lot more than that!

Right. I overdo my examples sometimes.

If we include a working fan in the middle, we should be able to increase the voltage, thus enabling us to truly crank our amps to 11.

it would be a 'double humbucker' anyhow, to keep with our porschephile anal-retentive culture. wouldn't look like an old (i guess old by now), emg pickup or the 'stacked' humbucker i put in the rear of a strat in another lifetime..

Clever post Steve.

I prefer single coils to those muddy Humbuckers.

And here he is:

We could ask him, he still plays at the Iridium in NYC.

Is it a black bobbin or white bobbin pickup. If it were the holy grail of pickups could it be a '73 zebra RS pickup?

The slim early single coils where call "lipsticks".
Usually found in a old Telecaster.

Pass the bong dudes.

Porsches, single coils, lipsticks and humbuckers. Does it get any better?
