Good DIY Audi forums?

After searching the Audiworld forum archives and posting a few questions about my newly acquired A6 2.7T (thanks Lendaddy!), I am starting to think that there are not too many hardcore DIY types over there. (they mostly discuss how dark to tint their windows, how to debadge their cars, how to change their oil and how much the DEALER charged to change their timing belts).

Any suggestions on a better Audi forum for the hardcore DIY types? I picked up a Bentley repair CD and am ordering a VAG-COM scan tool interface and software.

audiworld.com and motorgeek.com are pretty good, at least for my old 90 Quattro.

Yea Tim I know what you mean. Truth is there are some very smart guys on Audiworld, but you have to wade through a sea of idiots to find them. Do you have an plans to"spice her up"?

Also check out fourtitude.com and audizine.com. Can't comment on the A6 side, but Audizine had some pretty hardcore DIY guys in the A4 forum. Also plenty of show and go types, and lots of immature jackoffs. It's hard to find a BBS as mature and technical as Pelican.

Thanks for the response Dave. My luck with Audiworld has not been good thus far (my guess is that these newer electronic cars are just too much for alot of DIY types to deal with). Maybe I have been spoiled by Pelican's 911BBS.

Yeah, I read you post kinda quickly and didn't notice the model. You may be right about DIYers shying away. I don't touch my wife's '97 A6 but do everything to my 90.

Not yet! I just am trying to take care of a few minor issues I have found thus far. I just bought some paint for the hood and front bumper and I need to fix the transmission cooler leak. The slight squeaking at cold idle seems to be coming from the power steering pump and the bypassed serpentine cooler we discussed is indeed a power steering oil cooler (confirmed by my Bentley CD manual) so I need to make sure all is well after flushing the and rehooking up the cooler. This car rides like a luxury car, I need to quit driving it as I may get used to it!

I will probably upgrade to some 18" wheels (non-bling silver painted) once I wear this set of new tires out.

Thanks for the forum info puppy, I will check them out.
