I saw one of those gyrocopters for sale last year at the California Antique Farm Equipment Show . It had a thick layer of dust, but otherwise straight and undamaged. I'm quite sure that it did come out of a barn.

I seriously doubt that he ever delivered mail with a gyrocopter like the one featured in Road Warrior. Most likely, the author meant a Pitcairn Autogyro or a Cierva Autogiro which were popular in the era mentioned.

Weird, was looking at gyrocopters on ebay earlier today. There are two of them right now, and both are at about $3500. That's less than a good coffin! Wonder what they'll sell for.
