Bill O'Reilly: No Spin Zone? Fair and Balanced?

FAIR?...What a joke, they monitor and dissemble a fraction of the media and give a free pass to all things liberal. They are a leftist organization wrapped up in a false package, focused on propagating disinformation for the purpose of moving socialism forward.

"Reverend, you can go back to Africa if you want to. I mean, you could go and repatriate back to the continent or anywhere. Not any country will take U.S. citizens, but African countries will."

— to slavery reparations advocate Rev. Al Dixon (The O'Reilly Factor, 3/6/01)

Sounds imbalanced and unfair all at the same time - class act.

Maybe he should stick to doing phone sex.

Moneyguy1 03-23-2006 09:28 AM

Keith Oldberman is waiting for his visit from the FOX security people.

I will say this about Bill..He never fails to be entertaining. I do like the letters section at the end (when I switch from the competition)

One observation...his tv show is far more refined that the morning talk/phone in sessions.

O'Reilly is like the opinion page in the newspaper. It's not meant to be "fair and balanced". Look at your local newspaper and check out the liberal biased blather in the Opinion section. Fox News leans conservative, and pretty much all other media leans liberal. Get over it.

Excellent observation! There is a huge difference between opinion editorial journalism and hard news.

I would say that Fox does tend to lean to the right in their editorial shows as much as the main stream media leans to the left in their news outlets and editorals. This does provide "balance". Isn't that "fair"?

No. See the thread on conservative babies. "Fair" is when a liberal gets what they want.

And yet on a site that's supposed to be "FAIR" and balanced itself, this quote was posted without context or even a link to a transcript; seemingly to ge the same biased response that kach posted.

Don't know or care the context of the quote, just seems like more of that kettle/pot black thing.

A quick skim of their site has be leaning toward Mul's opinion of it.

Moneyguy1 03-23-2006 10:36 AM

The most entertaining part of this thread is the seriousness of the opinions stated therein.

No substance, no answers, nothing but fluff.

Helps break up the day!!!

Well, the issue is not which way they lean, it’s the claims they make. They claim to be neutral, fair and balanced, the no spin zone. But you said it yourself, they lean right. My problem is that they claim to be fair and balanced, but they are far from it. I don’t see MSNBC or CNN making claims that they are fair and balanced.

If they called it the “Fox Opinion Channel” instead of the “Fox News Channel,” I wouldn’t have a problem.

No, the kid claimed he needed it more than me. Then he wanted to come over to my house to see if he "needed" anything else. I told the teacher, she called me a whiny conservative.

Actually he told all the other kids he had the toys. Then when the teacher came to look for them he said that he didn't have any and threw sand in his face (17 times). Then the teacher took him off the playground. No toys were found but everyone was better off.

...except for the fact that several of the other kids were killed as 'collateral damage' while a few others were molested as a 'hazing prank'. Then the remaining kids split into two groups and started killing each other.

Wow! So the playground would have been better of with the kid who had mass graves in his sandbox and payed other kids to remove all the Jewish kids off the swingset? Not to mention the whole "Milk Money for Hallpass" scandle where he pocked all the money and didn't issue any hallpasses!

What was this thread about anyways?

johncj8989 03-23-2006 01:46 PM

O'Reilly has gotten to full of himself for my tastes.

bigchillcar 03-23-2006 02:12 PM

and now the playground bully is trying to bully the principal, but they keep sending him back to stand in the corner..
