Any SoCal Pelicans going to the wealth expo in Anaheim?
It begins today and ends on Saturday. I'm driving down from the SF Bay Area this morning and will miss most of the events today but will attend most everything tomorrow and Saturday. If anyone here is planning on going, let me know. Would love to meet Pelicans with like interests and trade stories.

Nope. IMO, just another scam.
Q) If these guys really know how to make big money easily, why are they not out doing it instead of charging others for the information? A) they can make more money by pitching their ideas than they can by actually implimenting them. |

Read the website. Admission and events are free. I'm going to see what trading tools are available; software, training, etc. Those will, of course, cost money. It's a chance to see what's out there to help me become a better trader. I belong to an investment club and we have a booth at the expo. We're looking for new members to share trading strategies with.

I'd be interested to hear your results/impressions. My first impression is the same as sammyg2's. However, wouldn't mind hearing what others are using/doing these days.

Well I'm gonna have to eat crow on this one. Sammyg2 and Ty are right, for the most part. There were three or four companies I would do business with, the rest have "interesting products or services" to say the least.
CyberTrader's software is impressive but it's expensive. It's free if you do 40 trades or 200 options/futures contracts per month. Otherwise it's $140/mo. Their commission structure is pretty good at $9.95 + $1 per contract though. Their premium software package offers all the services I would need without having to alt tab between different windows to retrieve information. But again it's expensive for the non-day trader. Options University offers pretty comprehensive investor education packages at reasonable prices. Too bad I didn't find out about these guys last year. Could've kept my losses low. It was a worthwhile trip. Got to network with a few seasoned traders. I think I'll keep my day job and continue to place/set up my trades in the evenings. |

That's the thing though, talking to other traders about methods that they've had success with was probably worth the trip alone.
I'm on the options/futures side of it all - 200 trades is quite a lot for me at this point. We use a program at work, I think it's called Futuresource. Not bad. Some other guys use other programs that are more sophisticated and others don't even bother with Futuresource... whatever works. Meanwhile, it might be worth taking a look at the corn/beans market over the next few weeks.
