Yes, the 2 girlfriends idea is a good one.
I went through that years ago. It used up so much of my time, money, and energy that I didn't even get a chance to wack it for at least 3 days after that 2 month "adventure". Talk about 3-4 showers a day, eating 4-6 times a day, and sex happened a minimum of twice daily (they were both HOT and young). If only they would have been "ok" with each other, and were around at the same time, then it may have lasted. |
Cut the caffeine out earlier.
Do not excericise 3 hours prior to bed. Do not take vitamins prior to bed, especially vitamin B. Do not take a hot shower prior to sleeping...raises core body temp and over stimulates the senses. Do not ever look at the clock. The alarm will wake you up...let it go. Try a bowl of vanilla ice cream 30-40 minutes...and good luck |
If you drink herbal tea, sometimes there are stimulants that can keep you awake. I cut out one of my favorite brews after I noticed it said that you shouldn't take it if suffering from hypertension. The ingredient? Liquorice...

I used to struggle a lot with sleeping, too. Slept terribly, all the time. Miserable.
Caffeine has to stop earlier, for sure. I used to do an afternoon shot when I got home from work, then another after dinner. At my peak, I was doing up to 16 shots of espresso in a day. I didn't sleep so much as a I lay down and twitched more slowly for a few hours. Now I do 2 shots at 7am, and no more caffeine the rest of the day, period. Try reading. I've found that if I pick reall mind-numbing stuff, I can't focus on it long enough for it to put me out. Supply Chain Management, anything by Jung, Dostoevsky -- too slow. It needs to be light and relaxing, but not too light, or you'll laugh and get into it, then you're up all night. Something else that really helped was running a fan. I realized that I was probably being woken up by random noises, then couldn't get back to sleep. So now I start a big fan on low speed before I go to bed, and I can't hear anything. Works like a charm. Last sleep tip that comes to mind -- shift down to a 6 hour balance. If I get 8 hours two nights in a row, there's no way I'm sleeping at a normal time the next night. If I schedule myself for 6-7, I'm more likely to be able to sleep the next night, more consistently. Good luck, dude. |
Just to make sure I would be tired when the time came, I made sure to get my 6-mile run in yesterday. I had one more cup of coffee around 2PM just to keep me going (I usually have one around 4PM, but the cutting-it-off-early sounds like a good idea). I had to work at 4:30, and got out around 9PM. Went right home, drank a glass of milk, read for about 30mins......
and slept for 8.5 hours like a log. I feel great this morning. Thanks again for the advice. BTW, I really don't think 2 GFs is the way to go... ONE is stressful enough... ;) |
