Guys (and Gals) need some car advice

Last year I bought two cars. The first one was the Nissan Altima with the sport package. This was going to be my daily driver and family trip car. Great car, no complaints at all. My wife loved the Mazda RX8. At the time she was driving a Toyota RAV. So I buy her the RX8. Red with the red/black leather interior, every option known to man except navigation. Now the quandry, my wife claims to love the car, but is always driving the Altima. I don't mind the RX8, but that interior looks like a rolling whore house. It has to go. But what should I get next? Up front I will tell you I am not really interested in BMW's, Audi's etc. What I have been looking at is the new Miata MX5. If finally looks like it has grown up and no longer looks like a chick mobile. The new Toyota FJ Cruiser looks cool, but not sure if I want another SUV. Actually I have so many cars I probably don't need another one, but I do love buying them. Any other suggestions for a fun daily driver?

New cars don't need work. Get another old car If it must be new, and reasonably priced, why not a Cooper S JCW or a supercharged Scion?

I have a friend with the Cooper S and it doesn't do much for me. I would feel silly driving a Scion or any other boy racer car.

How about a Porsche? That would be fun to drive every day.

My wife has a Miata. That's the only thing she'll drive now. Not really fast, but still quick. Red convertible, blond thing too.
Plus, in my favor, not a lot of trunk space for shopping.....

I actually thought about this, 2 911's that is, but decided I already have the one I want and probably would not keep a 2nd one very long.

I agree if they are very similar to each other. But if they are different, now that's another story. I have two (930 & 911) and to drive them is a different experience. Actually, when the kids get out of car seats and booster seats I'll probably drive the '85 daily. But I'm years away from that. 2.5 yo and a 8month old.

Every Porsche I've driven has been a different experience.

I had a '03 Altima, 3.5, quick as all get-out. Lots of fun. I ended up trading it in on a '03 Lexus. The interior quality of the Altima is pretty bad. Lots of little broken parts.

To me it boiled down to quality and intended purpose. The Lexus is hands down better quality, and is *really* comfortable conveyance. It's a much better car for taking the in-laws around, cruising to Tahoe (or Vegas, or Phoenix).

For my quick, sporty jones I am in the market for my first 911 .

I took a VW GTI for a spin the other day. It was a fun little car.

There should be a few Pontiac GTOs around at reduced prices. The interior is the antithesis of the RX8 "rolling whorehouse" and you'll probably get bored with the horsepower about the same time the car starts to fall to pieces (about a year and a half). In the meantime, it should be a fun 'sleeper'.

Can't go wrong with a Honda. They take a licking and keep on ticking. I have hammered the heck out of my Integra GSR sedan and it is as good as new, 8 years and 130,000 miles later

Better than the Miata, I would go with a Honda S2000. -etter looking and driving - Tight cars.
