Silly Q Re: Autopia Concours Buffing Towel...

OK all you anal Porsche guys... ;)

Bought it on sale for ~$10+ shipping.
Instructions say to wash "...with liquid detergent." prior to using.
Not sure there's anything magical about "detergent", but...
I only have powdered laundry "detergent" and liquid dish soap.
Liquid dish soap has got to be OK, right?...or does it have some bad oils/skin softeners in it?
Thanks.

You'll likely be fine with the liquid dish soap. Just rinse real well.

Try Microfiber towels as well. Especially for removing wax...they're excellent.

Target has bundles of microfiber towels in their auto section. I use those with good success. Reminds me... I really need to USE them soon... my daily driver needs a good wash, clay bar, polish and wax!

Thanks gents...I'll look at them.

This CBT is now soaking is some foo foo dish soap - will rinse well.

They recommend not using a powdered detergent to reduce the chance of grit being imbedded in the towel and scratching your paint. Dishwashing liquid might be even better for the towel than laundry soap since it will remove old wax and sealant.

Yeah, ep...I figured it was the grit deal.
Also, seems there are gobs of "fillers" in powdered laundry soap.
Good idea re: the wax/sealant.
Thanks.
