The Lobby Strikes Back

As expected, the Israel Lobby has achieved yet another kill, no not literally, just cost a man his job for doing research and putting it in print.

The Lobby Strikes Back
Harvard study of Israeli lobby's influence costs the dean of the Kennedy School his job
by Justin Raimondo

The reaction to the Harvard University study by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, [.pdf] has been fury by the Lobby and its partisans - and a demotion for Walt, who, it was announced shortly after the paper's release, would be stepping down from his post as dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government. As the New York Sun reports (via the Harvard Crimson):

Quote:

"Yesterday's issue of The New York Sun reported that an 'observer' familiar with Harvard said that the University had received calls from 'pro-Israel donors' concerned about the KSG paper. One of the calls, the source told The Sun, was from Robert Belfer, a former Enron director who endowed Walt's professorship when he donated $7.5 million to the Kennedy School's Center for Science and International Affairs in 1997. 'Since the furor, Bob Belfer has called expressing his deep concerns and asked that Stephen not use his professorship title in publicity related to the article,' the source told The Sun.".

Of course, I know what the purpose of your attempt to associate me with your fellow racist, you want the truth silenced when it has something to do with the Bush'ist Junta.

Fat chance.

The subject is a Harvard dean who was fired over his research exposing the influence of the Israeli lobby on the currect, and perhaps past, US governments.

If you have something to add, or a rebuttal of their work, post it.

Try Alan Dershowitz, he's hates everyone that points out Israel's errors.

Pat: Didn't realize you were such a fan of research coming out of Harvard.

It's hard to consider work by Dershowitz as research.

I would think you would not care less. A tempest in a liberal teapot...

Unlike many, I do care how the dismissal was obtained. Like the unethical special prosecutor, Fitzgerald, who essentially created the crime Lewis Libby alledgedly committed; I don't accept these perversions of the law, or in the case of Harvard, perversions of it's employment policies; to achieve a goal I might like.

What do you expect of such an effete, liberal, left wing, Northeast, tax-payer money accepting, internationalist instititution? I mean really?
