Mozilla Firefox

The old IE has been acting up and not letting me into secure websites, like my bank. Downloaded Firefox, and installed in a minute, it even transferred my bookmarked sites and passwords. I like it, and free too.

There's lots of cool plugins. My faves are the javascript, ad and flash blockers.

I use both browsers, IE is usually what I use but I like Firefox better but I have not got it MSN Messenger to work with it and I don't think I will. After reading the Mac thread, I may need to get one as well.

GMail Manager is really cool too. If you have lots of GMail accounts, that is. SmileWavy

Wow, I didn't know about any of that stuff, I'll have to look closer.

Yeah, Firefox kicks ass. Fast, tabbed browsing, stable -- now if only it supported mouse gestures, like Opera. :)

Yep, Firefox rocks. I use it about 90% of the time. However not all web sites are optimized for it. And in my experience, my bank is the big reason I continue with IE.

Speaking of IE, I have downloaded and played with the Beta for 7.0. Pretty nice, but it takes some getting used to. For example, menus are entirely different.

Can someone give me quick explanation of plugins and how to access them. I use Firefox as IE will not run on my Powerbook. I have to use it to get into some financial sites. Other browsers lock up on my machine.

I've been using Firefox for a while now - me likey. True, it isn't optimised for some sites but then again, it doesn't nearly as much of the spyware/virus junk either. Multiple tabs, plugins, toolbar bookmarks (one click right to Pelican!) and so on. Great price - Free.

Didn't it win software product of the year?

Clearly, I'm not the most technically saavy computer user but I like it very much.

Download the IEview extension.

Some sites don't work with Firefox, so you can program those sites to only open in IE. The extension also gives you the ability to right click on a link to open in IE. Pretty handy.
