Which Model Mercedes EuroSpec Roadster is this??

I was driving up Sunset blvd in my Targa after a hike, and spotted this roadster... it had Mexico plates, and was possibly driven by (don't laugh) Paris Hilton... driver was blonde and has a small chihuahua up against the driver window....

hahahhaha!

Motor is probably under 2.0liters....

Knew someone from this board would peg it...
a bit different from photo, but basically same car.
This one was from over the border... looks cross between old CRX si and RX-8 sort of....

From Tiscali Motoring page....

Don't be misled by the unpromising-looking 0-60mph time (11.5 seconds), because Smarts are always hamstrung in their on-paper performance by the sluggish getaway. That's down to the transmission, which makes things worse by its leisurely gearshifts. There's quite a lot of turbo lag, too, typical of a small turbocharged engine asked to deliver a big output (it's an impressive 117bhp per litre). In practice you learn to anticipate the lag and press the accelerator in advance of needing thrust, but the engine can be frustratingly slow to gather momentum after a gearchange. In fact, it provides surprisingly strong pulling power, the engine is very smooth, with a deep, sporty and slightly Porsche-like exhaust note, and you'll be surprised every time you hit the rather low 6000rpm rev limiter because the engine sounds as though it's revving at half the speed, as three-cylinder engines do. Ultimately the Roadster is slower than its obvious rivals (MG TF, MX5), but not disastrously so. The Brabus-tuned versions have been upped to 100bhp and 69lb ft (0-60 in 9.8 seconds), and feel stronger mid-range, though there's not a lot in it.

"a bit different from photo, but basically same car."

The car in your photo has the optional hatch.

Just a note. Brabus made two 6 cylinder versions for some special customers. Basically, they took the turbo inline 3 cylinders, joined two at the crankcase and-voila! a 1.4 liter twin turbo 6! Ain't cubic money grand.

Here is one I stumbled on in Frankfurt last year. Much nicer than the typical smart car.

Drove one (the cabriolet) this past weekend. Actually a lot of fun despite the seeming lack of power. The car is very, very low, and the seats can't be more than a foot off the ground. The weight distribution is near 50/50 meaning that it handles really nicely. Feels quick too, but I guess that is down to the groundrush, sitting so close to the ground.

Would make a nice toy, if it weren't a bit er, uhm, well, girlish I guess!
