I'm still sniffing it out and I'll definitely keep y'all posted. I think lessons are the way to go... but I may need to go a ways to take them. I would not have gone skydiving w/o lessons, and it really looks like there is less to that than there is to this.

Moses -- my bro is an ER doc (I think I've mentioned this before) and if I were never to do anything that has landed someone in an ER, thereby providing gruesome fodder for the arched-eyebrow, sidelong-glance, knowing warning of an ER doc against said behavior, I don't know what fun there would be left to have.
