My little joke
Ok, so it was actually pwd72s, idea, but I thougt I'd mix things up a little on the 15 mile journey home and put a Jack in the Box cup on the roof of my car and drive... I have access to lots of very strong hard drive magnets and figured it would do just fine. I tried it out in our parking lot and was able to get the attention of some people comming back from lunch. Very funny. I know it will stay put up to 45 MPH. The freeway was jammed and slow as usual. People were honking, laughing, pointing at my roof and trying to simulate drinking. When back on surface streets, two people actually backed up, rolled their windows down and try and get my attention.
Thanks pwd72s!!! That was too much fun. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1144382441.jpg :D Dave |
Looks great. Try something else like a checkbook or cellphone!

Dave Letterman did this with a bag of groceries, I think it was the last thing he did that was actually funny.

too funny!

Hot Damn! Gotta admit, I haven't done it since High School years. How long ago was that? I recently received a postcard saying our 45th reunion is coming up. Nice to know that as old as they are, good gags still work. :D (edit) What's great about this one is that it hurts nobody, yet it's still one hell of alot of fun.

I was thinking the cup was too tame.
Definitely a bag of groceries, a stuffed cat, or a wallet... |
I also have access to Laptop shells. I was thinking of securing a laptop on the roof. The cup may have been tame, but if you were there, you'd have one big grin on your face. The expressions the people made... Priceless.

Oh GAWD...a wallet would be great...drive 5 mph under the limit, keep looking in your mirror, see all the folks following, waiting for their "reward" ;) That would sure separate the honest from the "not so honest", wouldn't it?

pwd72s = genius!
...I'm off to the store for either a drink or groceries. how big of a magnet do I need? |

Nice!
I'm starting the search in about 20 minutes. |
alright, maybe in another 20 minutes...

Two Words:
Infant Seat :D |
The magnets I used come from the inside of a hard drive. Yes, funny to think that your data is ok after spinning on platteers near some super stong magnets. The magnets are used to make the heads move back and forth. Rare earth magnets should work as well. Regular ferrite magnets are too weak.
