Leaking Mosquito Spray and Resulting Paint Damage - beware!

So I bought this plastic bottle of Cutter mosquito spray (below) and it accidently toppled over on the garage shelf and as the bottle has a poorly sealing dispenser top, the drops leaked out and fell on my car below eating through the car cover AND badly damaged the paint and clear coat of the car...beware when using these chemicals.

I am tempted to call Cutter's customer service and provide this feedback but I'm sure they will roll their eyes and say "oh well read the fine print".

Vicks vapo-rub makes better repellent anyway... who wants to dump all those chemicals on your skin?

If it can cause that kind of damage to a car cover and paint, what's it doing to your skin? No wonder it repels bugs.

Also, I found that Off aerosol will etch a timex ironman display. Need to take that watch off before spraying.

If it has DEET as a component, it will eat stuff. Paint, some plastics like fishing reel handles as noted above. Unfortunately, the stuff works pretty well but requires some hand washing and caution. Have not tried Vicks but suspect clear sinuses as a side benefit.

I put a little on my finger, and some goes on my head, in my beard, elbows, behind knees. Not a lot, just enough so that you can smell it. Works really well. I'm mostly through a very small jar of kids strength and I've been using it for 3 or 4 years now in the back yard

What I need to find is something that works on horseflies and yellow flies... the vicks doesn't seem to bother them, and they are BAD at the local shooting range...
