Garmin StreetPilot i5 GPS
I have to head to Nashville next week without the wife (my navigator). I have major problems getting around that city. Is the Garmin StreetPilot i5 GPS a decent system?

I don't know that one. I've had a Streetpilot III in the past, good machine for it's day, and now have a Streetpilot 2610 which is one of the best.
In my opinion, Garmin's forte is ease of use, particularly betwen units. Learn one Garmin, know most of how to use any Garmin. In fact, I like the 2610 so much, I bought a second one to use in my cars, because my wife keeps "hers" in her car all the time. I bought a second memory card, a 1gb compactflash size, one of the fast ones, just $60.00 delivered. About 1/3 of the entire US can be put on it. Worth a look, factory refurbs are going on eBay for about $400.00 with the latest maps and a 1 year warranty. |
