Thumbs up Citizens and Legal Immigrants need to protest

I think a protest against the illegal immigration should be done, perhaps on the 4th of July, which seems quite appropriate to me. People have the day off work anyway, any thoughts?

It would of course be portrayed as racist, which is ironic, because US citizens don't have a race, and the folks at the pro illegal immigration protests do.

Well, I certainly hope the answer isn't something like Mexican.

Anyway I don't see it as racial. I don't want ANY illegal immigrants here. I have zero problem with immigrants coming in legally to find work or a new place to call home.

BTW, is it me or are almost all the news outlets calling these protests "Immigrant Protests"....and purposely leaving the word illegal out....? Nothing like blurring the lines.

It seems to me the only real screaming about immigration is coming from the Republican party...Have the libertarians put their liberal leanings down long enough to collaborate strongly on immigration?...If you think that the libertarians once mainstream aren't going to cave to immigration you are mistaken...The best and only hope you have is to raise hell to your representatives and donate to hard line Republicans.

I've already written to my political representatives reagarding this issue. Maybe a good protest will help, too.

My wife is a resident alien. She came here legally. We filed all the forms and did the whole shebang in a proper and legal manner.

Over a period of time had to deal with INS, BCIS, and USCIS. It was a HUGE P.I.T.A.!!! It cost us thousands of $$, and several years of waiting. Not to mention some extra stress on a new relationship/marriage - which I'm sure many of you know that NEW relationships have plenty of stress all on their own.

I am 1000% AGAINST any move that would give the illegals amnesty. And don't give me the political doubletalk or the crap about "guest workers" - If they're illegal, they should be treated as lawbreakers.

If you want into our country, that is FINE BY ME. I don't care what race you are, or what country you came from. I will welcome you with open arms*, and even buy you a beer** as long as you DO IT LEGALLY.

WHEN YOU REWARD CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, YOU WILL INEVITABLY HAVE MORE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

* You must be cute, and female, to get the "open arms welcome"
** Offer is limited to one beer total, and you must share with all the others.

Oh man, it is a full court leftist press, painting these criminal invaders as oppressed and wronged. The sympathy and activism is oozing in concert from the MSM (mouthpiece of the Democrat party).

Make no mistake...these protests are organized by leftist groups, Mexican national groups, and communist front groups.

Further blurring the lines is the support of these "Immigrants" rights. As touched on by Cash, I'll guess a large number of legal immigrants are not marching in the streets with illegals.

Seems to me that it's also been mentioned that politicians are supporting these "immigrants" in fear of losing the "Hispanic" vote. Which vote is that? Are legal voters of Hispanic descent supporting these illegals in large numbers?

The Union rank and file don't want more immigrants.

The Republicans have historically been pro-immigration; their merchantilist roots were deep into the first great migration in the late 19th and early 20th century.

It's not surprising that the Bush'ists support it, in many ways they're returned to the socialist roots of the Republican Party.

Both parties are beholden to targeted interests- so single issue groups and corporate donors can have disproportunate influence. By definition - all the illegals protesting cannot vote. But those backing them have no more important issue.

Your Walmarts and Tysons and industrial agriculture is built on the backs of these illegals and subsidised by the rest of us - dont think they are fighting like hel! behind the scenes. And the media? Most of them loath America anyway - change is good - however and wherever is comes from..

The best hope for getting this under control? The general electorate finding out and being concered about this issue..

I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Why do WE just sit in a chair and watch this. I want our voices to be heard too, more than just at the poll booth every 4 years to vote for the better of two brainless idiots.

I get Albuquerque news where I live and I noticed that a) the protestors were protesting in spanish, and B) there were more mexican flags than American. They should have been checking green cards and loading buses right there.

I honestly think I'm going to outlive this country (or at least its standing as a first-world country), and you have no idea how it hurts me to say that.

It's not going to get better. It could, but we don't have the strength to do it.

Why do you paint the "union rank and file" in a positive light and offer that they "don't want more immigrants"?...You are through the looking glass my Mad Hatter friend. You have it exactly backwards. You offer that the "Bush'ists support it" and the Republican roots are "socialist"?...You are warped buddy.

The Union rank and file are controlled by their ultra-socialist handlers and mob-like bosses; they are an extension of the DemocRAT party. They (unions) are worse than illegals, their philosophy is communist...This is the very glue that holds the unions, Democrats and illegal immigrants together -- communism/socialism.

You are disconnected. It is obviously the Republican party that is fighting to end illegal immigration and if they lean socialist in any way, it is because they lean in the direction of Democrats...It is really hard to compete against the populist message, and even the Republicans have to slouch toward socialism to get re-elected (or so they fear).

"Union rank and file" don't support illegals, the "Bushists" are socialists and are for illegal immigration????....LOL...You are such a joke!

Mul - I am with Pat on this one. Many union's "rank and file" are far more conservative than those that lead them.

On immigration - I and many other republicans have TOTALLY broken with Bush. He is selling us out - to his corporate doners who like a cheap and docile labor force (with the rest of us picking up the tab for heathcare, school taxes and the rest). Illegal immigration up 40% in 5 years. That is 100% on his watch. Bush and his Mexican buddies have turned a blind eye and the mad dash to the border before the next "amnesty".

And Bush's talk about "guest workers". How much will a poor Mexican peasant need to pay out of his wages to make it to this elite list?? You trust Fox and his banditos do dole these golden visas in a fair manner? It makes me sick to think how the elites in Mexico are going to profit from this.

The joke is on you Mul, and me and the rest of us.
