Do you have an Epson printer? If so they may owe you $$$$
From Slickdeals..... As the result of a class action lawsuit you may be entitled to a $45 ecoupon for Epson's estore or an alternative of receiving a $25 check and $20 estore coupon (you must file a claim form).
If your printer was purchased between '99 and '06 you should try to get the credit. Lawsuit was for the cartridges shutting the machine down due to a low ink condition. Problem is that there's likely a considerable amount of ink left in the resevoir. Unfortunately one of my printers never turned back on. Epson no more for me. If your model is shown below then go here to register..... http://www.epsonstore.com/benefitsreg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1145023915.jpg |
I qualify. Thanks! I'll check out that link. I know mine is a junk! I hate that thing....

I love the two copier/printer/scanner combo units (CX5200 & CX5400) I have (3yrs occasional use on house unit, 2 yrs occasional use on workshop unit). They have both performed better than my previous HP and Canon printers. I like the fact that they have a relatively large black ink cartridge.

Oh, here's a link to the claim form: http://www.epsonsettlement.com/pdfs/ClaimForm.pdf

I have a brother copy/fax/print color unit that does the same thing, we go through the expensive ink in a big hurry. Better yet, black and white prints use all of the colors (despite having black ink), so I still have to replace them all despite never printing in color. Thank God we got it for free.

Hey, I have one of those... thanks for the money.
Its a well known scam that the ink for these things costs a lot more than the actual unti itself. HP is the worst about it...I was actually happy with Brother, but I never broke apart one of the ink modules to see how much was left like the people who formed this class action lawsuit must have. |
Another scam is the cartridge expiring and shutting down the machine. I think there might be a CA lawsuit against HP for this bright idea.

I buy generic ink, it's also smart to save your old cartridges and bring them to Staples for $3 credit for each cartridge. check out www.eforcity.com my epson inks from them are less than $3 each, so I'm getting almost free ink.

We had an Epson Stylus Color 740. We had out of ink problems all the time. I notices that I could print nearly more 100 pages when we were "out of ink"
|
wow that would explain it........i have an epson which i recieved a couple years ago, said it needed ink......bought ink and installed......still needed ink WTF!!! been sitting in a box for a few years, i was pissed because of the wasted $$ buying 2 cartridges.

The link gives me a 404. Deviant little thugs.
I hate mine, it loves to "use" ink if I don't use it for a month. Then you turn it on and it's out. |

I Googled it, www.epsonsettlement.com also has everything pertaining to the suit, including the claim form on PDF.

I just bought the CX3810 but I'm not a U.S. citizen so I don't qualify. I've only had my multifunction for a few days now but so far I've been pleased wth it.
|
I bought 3 Epson printers and all had the same problem-new cartridges all indicated that the printer was out of ink, or, I could not print a document after I replaced the catridges. A full set of cartedges cost around $60 Or the equivalent of 7 oil filters for the 911). Too bad I just recycled them before I got the class action notice in the mail this week. I've switched to Canon; so far so good.

I've had the same experience as bell. Replaced the cartridges after no ink and the condition persists. The damned printer sits in my office. Epson says to go to a repair ceter.....yeah right! |
Sent me settlement paperwork in yesterday. Thanks! I took the $25 check and the $20 e-store option.

thanks for the links Rick! |
This is great! Right before my CX5200 died I called Epson and asked why I could still hear ink sloshing around inside the cartridge even though the printer said it was empty. They said the machine had access to the number of ML printed on the cartridge and that the rest of the ink was extra.
The printer died right after I put in a brand new $60 set of ink cartridges. I called customer support and their answer was to replace all of the ink cartridges again! Yeah right... I bought a new HP. |
