The gov't withheld $50 in FIT to me, only to offer a refund.

I feel somewhat bad, but our government would probably go through it in a thousandth of a second, so what does it matter? I still contributed to SS and gave 33 cents to the State of Connecticut. I (sort of) did my civic duty.

72K probably means your AGI (adjusted gross income) was between 300K and 400K.
The more you make, the more you pay (theoretically).

unless, of course, you're super rich, then you don't pay any taxes.

Why? I'm a bum for taking my taxes back.

If you feel bad for my generation having trillions of $ of debt, that's another matter.

Which is more american, paying your taxes, or evading them? I'm sickened to think that my taxes are paying for Bush's toilet paper. On the other hand, that pretzel I bought him a couple years ago was worth it's weight in gold. Rolled gold.

Support the Fair tax!

My strategy is to give birth to more tax deductions.

But think of all the entertainment your tax dollars bring!!

Where else except perhaps the soaps can you find war, betrayal, intrigue, incest, and all the rest?

Then again, the world is just one big soap opera.

The good news is that my Porsche is deductible.

The bad news is that I pay much more in taxes each year than the typical person earns, in a year. Ive been looking for ways around this but have never found it.

A couple of years ago I got audited because I deduct as much as I can.

The Porsche actually flagged the audit, in a way.

I went down and met with the tax people in this simple, non-descript building with plain white walls and wooden tables and chairs. Apparenly the IRS likes to keep things downplayed.

Bottom line is that I came out 100% clean. I had all of my receipts and each deduction was accounted for. These 2 tax people grilled me for 60 minutes and I had a receipt for everything. It was beautiful.

The lesson is to keep all of your receipts and account for everything.

If it makes you feel better...just assume your taxes are buying Hillary's feminine hygiene products.

Not to mention that he gave almost $7M to charity...that was deductible.
