Muscle relaxers? The overweight golfing blues....

As many of you know, I quit smoking over a year ago and all is great with that, have not had a one. I have dreams about them all the time, but I don't really think about them when awake.

Anyway....I gained a TON of weight in the process....about 60lbs to be exact. I am a big mofo now

Now I know what I need to do long term and I will do it, but that does not help me right now. See I have a golf tournament this weekend and a four day 36+ hole a day outing in a week and a half (yea, that's 150+holes in four days). I have not played since fall but for one round Saturday. It was ugly, I am crazy out of shape.

I didn't get tired, just tight and unable to make my proper swing. I need something to help me or I'm going to lose a ****load of money

Yea, I know stretching and all that and I will.....but I need some chemical help I think. What works for you guys? I have never used them but I've heard they work well. Any suggestions?

Assume that:

Lose weight you fat ass
Stretch
Don't go
HAHAHAHA etc....

Are either not options or already being done.

I should add that I've had a few visits with a chiropractor and that seems to help a little. Prior to this I had never been to one.

what do you think takes more will power?

quitting the cigs, or controlling what you eat? i think, if you can kick the nicotine, you have the willpower to pull off the eating issues.
toby is a skinny bastard now, i challenge him to quit smoking!

Smoking is easier to lick because you can just "not do it". You have to eat so the problem is more complex.

But none of this helps me now, I need someimmediate relief. Any suggestions?

i found it easier to lose weight after i really got down to it. i am currently quitting smoking AGAIN. i went all last week without, relapsed this past weekend after a few drinks, but have picked it back up (the quitting) yesterday. i am using the fact that i have oral surgery this thursday as my motivation THIS time. cant smoke unless i want dry socket.

thing is when i am smoking i hate it, the smell, the money wasted, the fact that it is killing me, but when i am quitting, boy it seemed enjoyable. i usually fall back by convincing myself that i should not deny myself something i enjoy so much.

i admire the fact that you've been able to quit lenn, keep up the good work you fat bastard

Alcohol. I loosen up & play better after a few drinks. Unfortunately there is a fine line between enough and too much....

I hear ya, but four days straight will kill me, let alone 7:30 tees.

ok, moses may freak. but when i jacked my rotator cuff, the doc gave me 800mg painkillers. which were exactly the same as something like 4 aleve.

i dont have the bottle with me, so i am guessing about the 800mg. maybe it was 6 aleve. dunno.

Mytol?

I use it when I am really sore. Its a secret of bodybuilders and construction workers. I asked the medical supply company that restocked the first aid kits at our workplace why no midol in the hall one. He said it only goes in the woman rooms one because construction guys eat them like candy.

800mg ibuprofen tablets are commonly prescribed. Yes, exactly the same as 4 aleve (200mg each). One doc told me to do 3 x 800mg per day to deal with knee issues. Never did what they asked but good to know that to OTC tablets are well under any safety limits.

+1

Although, that much ibuprofen will eventually kill your kidneys.
