Thumbs up NYC Madness

Yesterday, I was being zipped around in a cab. The driver was really getting it. He used no signals but knew the horn well. We came flying through Times Square when I heard a beautiful sound up ahead. I looked out my open window to see a Carrera S making the best of the openings. The guy was all over the place. He got blocked and we made a pass. I looked back and saw him turn left. I swear four blocks later he was back in front of us again. It was amazing seeing the CS shredding all that NYC madness.

The posted speed limit here in NYC is "as fast as you can."

The taxis like that rule!

He's probably training for racing. A racetrack must seem tame by comparison.

Imagine buying that thing coming off it's lease. Salted roads, potholes and racing cabs!

Isn't that where Danny Sullivan got his training?

I used to love blasting down the outer lane of the Queensboro or Williamsburg Bridge (forgot which one)where it narrowed down from two lanes to 1 1/2 at each arch playing chicken with the cabs.

I kept a brown bag in the side door pocket for my co-pilot

It's also fun watching the pedestrians dart out of the way running at WOT on a Sunday morning!

I tagged a pedestrian once in mid-town with my full-size Bronco. He didn't seem to mind...almost like it was expected.

On another trip, went through Times Square in the front seat of a cab, going well over 70mph. It was surreal.

I never know how fast I really was going in my old VW bug with 40IDF Webers and a Glasspackk muffler.
Did not have time to glance at the speedo.

Sounded real neat echoing off the building walls and in the Tunnels.

I love coming through the Battery or Lincoln tunnel and backing off the throttle. Especially when I had my Harley and My GSXR
