Best beating scene in a movie?

Vinman's avatar always gets me thinking about this. I still say it's a toss up between DeNiro cleaning his shoes on Billy Bats in Goodfellas and James Caan beating his brother-in-law in the Godfather. Honorable mentions?

A Bronx Tale when the Italians beat up the bikers in the bar. I love it when he locks the door and tells the bikers now they can't leave.

Fight club- great movie.

Office space - the printer in the field. :)

Goodfellas - Corn field

Rick, the corn field scene was the end of Casino AND it really did happen that way.

WCC, I totally forgot about that biker/bar scene. One of the best lines of all time: "Now yuz can't leave."

I guess I don't remember that part. Did you mean Casino?

Boiler Room. When the gues from JT Marlin beat up that dude in the alley.

OK, maybe not the best, but I wanted to play along.

When Pitt is getting hammered by Lou and laughing the whole time. Now thats a beatin!

Maybe a few of the poorly-dubbed Chinese kung fu movies deserve some mention. Even the more modern Jackie Chan ones have some great choreographed scenes. I always like the one in Rumble in the Bronx when he's running along the tops of cars while the motorcycle is chasing him and he dives into a sunroof while bike rides right over what would have been his sensitive area.

Steven Segal and Tommy Lee Jones fight in Under Siege was pretty good if I remember right. It's been a long time since I've seen that movie. I do remember the girl coming out of the cake. I couldn't forget that part.... Yummy!

Last of the Mohicans, in the end, when Magwa kills the son, and then the father kills Magwa. Amazing fight scene.

Yes, Steven Segal has opened a can or two of whoop-a$s in his otherwise very lame movies. Have to give him kudos for the snapping bones sound effects too.

Mel Gibson in Braveheart. Pick a battle it really doesn't matter they were all pretty good.

Along those lines I could throw in there Gladiator and believe it or not Troy had some good fight scenes. Just not enough of them.

EDIT: I'm surprised no one mentioned Chuck Norris? He's mentioned all over this board!

rowdy roddy piper and the big black guy in an alley in the movie called "They live"........must've went on for 10 minutes..........

"you .....dirty....mother....." :D

Chuck Norris's best scene was vs. Bruce Lee in Return of the Dragon. When Bruce pulled that clump of hair off Chuck, it reminded me of Moe pulling Larry's hair.

GDSOB 04-21-2006 06:03 AM

Casino, Goodfellas, Bronx tale all came to mind.

How about the razor scene in Reservoir Dogs? yikes!

Shuie 04-21-2006 06:03 AM

there are 3-4 in Goodfellas...

Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction.

(I think its in Above the Law) where Segal sets his 1911 or hi-Power down and uses a cue ball from a pool table wrapped in a shirt to beat a few people with.

Rich76_911s 04-21-2006 06:06 AM

How about the fight scenes in the matrix? I'm kinda partial to the one between Keaunu Reeves and Laurence Fishburn? It was the first time I had seen anything like that, and I thought it was really cool. Admittedly though it is not a blood and goure fight scene like you guys are talking about. For that one I pick, Karate Kid, "put'em in a body bag Jonny, YAhhhh." (I'm kidding)
