Today is a good day

No one is home right now so i thought i'd let it out on pelican. I just got a call about 20min ago from honeywell in albuquerque and they want me for there summer intern as a mechanical engineer. I'm so excited right now, i can barely type. Now it's time for me to find an apartment complex who will give me a three month lease and i'm off to albuquerque for the summer :D

Cool - just so long as it's not an "White House"-type intern...

Congrats 1Fast! After some time there, search and find the thread on moving to Albuquerque and tell us what it is really like. :D

Plenty of corporate housing up here. Don't know how expensive it is. My temp co works with SouthWest Suites 800-342-3820

Heck, he is coming from Las Cruces....He should celebrate.

M.D. Holloway 04-21-2006 06:55 PM

word of advice - don't show up 45 minutes late with a hang-over your first day...

CONGRATS!!!

Rob Channell 04-21-2006 07:20 PM

Las Cruces? Yum. I miss that Ol' Gringo brand enchilada sauce. Good stuff, along with lots of other food out that way.

Congrats on the internship. This is where you get the chance to learn all the useful stuff they DON'T teach you in school.

If anyone still takes in boarders you might find a deal on a place to live. It used to be a good way to get a cheap place to stay for a while.

Tough break...My house has been empty for the last six months or so...and you could have stayed there....but I just gave it to some UNM cheerleaders (summer school) for the summer.

Is that an apartment only or a completely furnished space? Mine comes w/2 tvs (if you get bored w/PPOT), the whole thing furnished, linens, utensils, pots, plates, washing machine, and pretty decent cable. Also highspeed internet is avail for a small fee:rolleyes:

fintstone 04-21-2006 08:14 PM

That is not bad since you would not have to pay for utilities, trash pickup, phone, etc.

interesting job, nice state. I wish you the best of luck.

My co-op job was an eye-opener. I only saw about 75% of the real world, but that was all I needed to know. Those 8 quarters revealed I was not made for office-work.

have fun,
jurgen

Hmmm, couldn't there be room for "just one more"? ;)
