Cool 1970 Triumph 750....
Just caught this bike for sale on Craigslist, NJ. I know some of you guys are old bike enthusiasts so I figured I'd post. Price sounds high but I don't know much about these.
Have fun.... "1970 Triumph TR6 LIKE NEW COND w/extras !!! - $7995 Here we have a 1970 Triumph TR6 in LIKE NEW condition with a second complete set of body work! This includes a seat, both fenders and a fuel tank painted in striking mint green and silver color combination. The extensive list of extras include A.R.D. solid state advance magneto, margo 750cc cylinders, margo high pressure oil pump, mikuni carbs, black diamond valves, hagon gas shocks and much more. The milage shown on the odometer is from the rebuild and is not the original total milage. This bike is a jewel to behold when seen in person. It ran excellent when taken off the road and put into storage approx. 2 years ago but will need a fresh battery to run. Sweet bike.
Cracks me up when a seller says that it only needs a battery. Part with all of $50 and put a battery in it, silly boy. ![]() . I had a new T120 Triumph Bonneville (White) in HS back in the early '60's. Just another in a very long list of rigs that I wish I still had.

Based on prices I saw two weekends ago at the All British meet in San Jose, that's not an out of line price.

That bike is pretty nice, but too many things are not right on it in terms of originality to be worth the big bucks. It has a twin carb set-up added, which makes it a Bonneville clone, and 1970 is the last really valuable year, but they need to be super original and nice for high value. Showroom restored Bonnevilles up to 1970 have doubled in the last two years, per eBay.

If I read correctly,he has two sets of tin for it, also the rear tail light looks to be from a 71, and the "eyebrow"tank badges are pre 69.So not totally a 70.but dual carbs are correct for a T120R,
With Mikuni's and 750 jugs that would be a very nice piece if it is sorted and tight Add a 5 speed box and hit the twisties. You are correct on info on the value skyrocketing. several yrs ago Money Magazine pegged the 70 as an investment.I prefer to ride it .To bore you all here is a read I wrote on a del water gap run made with a few friends "The Bonnie,She likes.....going mobile." I rode the 70 Bonneville. A flawless wind catcher, she bears the no. X 18 classic plate out of Pennsylvania. While it is not in my nature to name my european mounts(as some of my wacky rider friends do),at about mid ride ,say, three and a quarter hours into it, I found myself doing a mental review of her features, her demeanor, and her attributes. Was I about to christen "The Bonny" with a name?? As we clicked along the Rt. 209 that follows the Deleware River north bound, a few neurons spinning inside my brain,a possible name appeared..... But why was I doing this when I would banter endlessly with rider friends who had silly, sometimes cute, deepmeaning, downright strange names for a ...bike.i guess it is selfexpression extended a bit more than i care to do The smile on my face and thoughts inside my head continued as if I were cutting a lane at speed through the British Highlands I could immagine old man Turner , addressing his sales staff at the factory in Meridian on how to convince a british lad in the 60's that The bonny was the only mount worth his hard earned british sterling. "Sir,"The Bonny",She wasn't meant for you to hang off, she was built for you to hang on to ! This puppy will make you a believer and test your dental work ,all in short order. As we rolled up the Deleware, past historical sights ,including Washingtons crossing, i just could not wipe the smile off my face.Annoyingly,The name,a name, just kept appearing in my brain. The "Asphalt Brahma" (no christening has occurred yet).Ugh! To be fair,The Asphalt Brahma, is not a totally appropriate moniker for a 70 Bonneville that is a world speed record holder. She is truly a handsome study in design power, and style. She was the envy of every other wind catcher the world around, from the Ace Cafe on the little island ,to Huntington Beach Calif., on the big island, half way around the world ! She is unmistakenly not a bovine among her peers. "The Wild One"-James Dean,Steve McQueen, and countless others knew of her beauty and character. Lawrence of Arabia would have turned his Brough Superior out in the cold, like a jilted lover, If he just once, would have tasted her spirit. Yes,She had them waiting in line to fill her dance card before they ould spin her up and out of the doors of Mreidian.. In a slight resemblance to the Brahma Bull, she bucks and she snorts a bit in the straights, but quickly gets down to business once those dual amal carbs are breathing freely . She shudders when the macadam is checkered with imperfections that are felt up through the Dunlop K70's she's shod with, clear to the tips of those seductive, low rise, wide as Montana, handlebars at the top of her triple crown. Sir,"The Bonny",She wasn't meant for you to hang off, she was built for you to hang on"! I recalled fondly. The hair on her back bristles on the uphill run due to the lame,un-thirst quenching, octane lacking excuse for petrol that I ask her to swallow, but she is a proud old wind catcher ,with a never say die attitude, and swallows hard in spite of that poor excuse for fuel that I provide for her. Another georgous day !! The sights, sounds, the full regaled aroma of summer, and a satisfying, flawless run of ensuring that the Edward Turner Legend lives on in a sea of mass produced ,fuel injected wannabes. She is a proud old girl at 35 years. Rightfully so, "The Legend" lives on ! With each barreling straight away run and every corner that she gives me ,I truly appreciate her. You never quite relenquish the memory of your first. However, at the end of the day, I am also reminded that I do appreciate a real suspension ,electric start, fuel injected throttle bodies over undersized amals , Zero Degree Radial sneaks, a super atomic closed cell foam, over priced butt basin, Four pot brembo dual disk, abs sporting clinchers and the other many improvements of todays modern wind catchers. Truth be told,I am now reminded of how soft(er,"un-hardened") I've become. Last but not least, there's no need for my next dental check up ! The eight hour run through the Delaware Water Gap, flying low and travling northbound backroads through the Kitttany Mts up to Eagles Nest on HWY 97 was enough to ensure that all my dental work is still intact. Lesser mounts could not have followed ! The Bonnie,She likes.....going mobile ,and she keeps me movin"!
