Survey for my Sociology class, I need "Elite White Men"

I'm doing a small scale replication study of the book "White Men on Race" by Joe Feagin and Eileen O'Brien. My other respondents haven't gotten the data to me in time (meaning I'm fscked) and so I'm appealing to you nice PPOT gentleman:) "Elite" means:
  • Mid/High-level Executive
  • College Professor
  • Politician
  • Rich business men
  • Basically anything that places you in a position of power

The survey is a 15 question cakewalk, and all the responses are kept completely anonymous. The idea is to get your ideas and perspectivies on race and race relations.

I would be very grateful for any volunteers. If you are interested, drop me a PM or Email (SlowToady@fakelife.com) and I'll email you the questions right away. Paper was originally due today but because I was waiting on respondents (that never sent it to me) I'm going to have to turn in it late on Thursday. I would need the responses by either tonight or tomorrow late afternoon so I have time to make sense of the data.

Slow~

I'm white, but sure as hell not "elite". Good luck.

I think I would try the tack that the elite types you attempted to survey were so elite they didn't have time for your survey.

Do you think that would buy you a week's time with the prof?

You have definately dumbed down your target audience in here, speaking for myself, of course.

Just make it up, that's what the New York Times or LA Times would do.

Tabs...

Well, my rate is $350/hr, and I'll have to double-check my answers, so let's call it $175 and I'll take your quiz.

Hey, how do you think I became "elite?" By just giving myself away?

Oh, and I want a $100 million severance package when I'm done with this 30 minutes of my time.

I'm retired white, so I guess I don't qualify for the "Elite Class." Never thought I was "Elite" anyway. There are lots of good quality people here who do qualify though.

I always thought "Elite " meant, "stuck-up, snobby, arrogant a**hole??

Indeed it is, because to get into such a position you have been afforded opportunities that many non-whites might not get due to "systemic" racism in America. The fact that you got into college, graduated (likely in good standing) and attended graduate school and received a degree, also likely in good standing, are things that most non-whites do not have access to for a variety of historical reasons and unfair white priveliages(sp?) passed on to you.

Yea, I know. But that's the argument this book makes...

914GT, I actually had some other students in the class admit to me that they fabricated the interviews. Maybe I should tell them to see if the Times is hiring?

Sing, prof. already extended the due date 5 days for the entire class. However, I did explain to him what happened today and because of my good standing in his class (I've never missed a day and I have the highest test scores) he has granted me until the end of class Thursday to have it done. This is the final paper, too; worth 25% of my grade.

You guys rock, good humor in the OT forum. I actually didn't expect any replies to this thread...I've also gotten several emails from willing participants, how cool is that?

Tell them to 'go for it'. There may some positions open soon at the L.A. Times. Following the newspaper's ethics policy is optional of course.
