I had a bottle last week - would only have it again if it was free. Pepsi had a better opinion back in 95 with Kona Cola which was quickly scraped.

It's all about the "Jolt" Baby!!!
![]() I used to drink Jolt all of the time when I was a teen. No wonder my regular at McDonalds was 3 Big Macs and 3 large fries. And I weighed 175# at 6'1".

ya, then again if you tried that now you would be 400+ lbs with liver enzymes and lipid counts off the charts!
At 16, we could do the worst things and it had no effect...time is cruel.

No doubt. I quit drinking sodas altogether a couple years ago. These days it's water, juice, green, or herbal tea. Maybe the occasional Guinness Stout.

Mostly water for me. Grapefruit Juice too, once in a while.
Ever look at the label on a can of coke? If you look at the sugar content, you'll note somewhere around 40 grams of sugar. Now, to put that into perspective, think of this next time you drink a coke: one teaspoon of sugar equals 4 grams of sugar. Now imagine having your morning cup of coffee with TEN teaspoons of sugar in it. WOW, eh?! That's only ONE twelve ounce can. How many of us will drink the equivalent of two to three cans of coke in one shot when we order that super size soft drink at McDonald's? Imagine eating 10 to 30 teaspoons of sugar in one sitting. Makes you think, doesn't it? Last edited by 450knotOffice; 04-29-2006 at 11:07 PM.. |

The Coke reps were just in last month pushing this new product on our vending company. We sell a ton of energy drinks right now. RedBull is the most popular. I have seen "kids" buy two cans in the span of an hour @ 2.50 a can. We have a lot shops that are full of young adults. They spend a ton of money on these drinks. Most are priced way above soda. I switched from MountainDew to diet anything about ten years ago when I wanted to get in shape after my divorce. I have also cut my caffeine intake to just two cups of coffee a day. The pop we drink is caffeine free. Marketing works, I guess.

Sodas are indeed scary. I drink one a day. I've tried a couple of the Red Bull drinks and all they did was make me jittery. Hard to hold a nail or welding rod if you're shaking.
