Mexifornia Senate Dems vote to support May 1 walkout...

Of course...what else is new in The People's Republik of Mexifornia?
Coming to a state near you.
.
http://cbs5.com/local/local_story_117193118.html
.
(AP) SACRAMENTO California's state senators on Thursday endorsed Monday's boycott of schools, jobs and stores by illegal immigrants and their allies as supporters equated the protest with great social movements in American history.

By a 24-13 vote that split along party lines, the California Senate approved a resolution that calls the one-day protest the Great American Boycott 2006 and describes it as an attempt to educate Americans "about the tremendous contribution immigrants make on a daily basis to our society and economy."

"It's one day ... for immigrants to tell the country peacefully, 'We matter ... (we're) not invisible,'" said Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero, D-Los Angeles, the resolution's chief author. She said immigrants make up a third of California's labor force and a quarter of its residents.

Opponents said the non-binding resolution was misleading because it failed to mention a goal of the boycott was pressuring Congress to legalize millions of undocumented people.

"It is a disingenuous effort to put the government of California on record supporting open borders," said Sen. Bill Morrow, R-Oceanside.

Sen. Dave Cox, R-Fair Oaks, said lawmakers should not encourage lawbreakers even if they disagreed with the law.
"It is irresponsible for this body to advocate that students leave school for any reason," Cox said.
.
.
BTW, a local radio talk show station fired their janitorial service yesterday when the company informed them that their Mexican cleaning lady would not be showing up for work on May 1.
.
.
BTW II, local TV news had a piece last night on how many Hispanic-owned businesses were closing on May 1...showing their support for the cause. A few interviews, etc. Two of the three interviewed business owners did not speak English.

Some fun, eh kids?

Hooboy...my kudos to the radio station there. Are we a polarized nation over this issue? I think so...

My opinion is that neither side is giving a good argument or being realistic-

without this so called undocumented labor California would come to a grinding halt or many of the goods and services you have come to rely on would more than double. California created this problem and has been extensively exploiting the situation while being fully aware of it. Cali is by no means the only state to be doing this but is certainly one of the most heavily affected. Take the construction industry for example, how do you think the housing development explosion was posible?.

Wait, I thought the liberals were assuring that the illegals would stay put picking strawberries, cooking food and cleaning toilets????....You mean to tell me they are infiltrating other industries, driving down wages and displacing American workers?

Noooooo!!!!....Couldn't be true!...Even suggesting it makes you a racist.

RSnine - actualy, without te illegals, intitialy cost of goods would go up - but taxes could go down. They are working in the economy, and not paying taxes at all.

I have already written several letters to companies that endorse the walk out stating that I will not be doing business with them ever again.

I will be paying attention on Monday, some companies will gain my business, some will loose it.

As for the politicians in Mexifornia? What did you expect. Seems like at least half of them have Latino names.
It's only a matter of time before the gringos are kicked out of the state.

When all of the illegals fail to show up they should be replaced by legal citizens or aliens. White, black, Mexican, Asian, I don't care. As long as they are replaced and don't have jobs to come back to.

I have a friend who works for Cal-OSHA and she told me that the State is quietly encouraging all state employees who work in downtown LA to work from home, work out in the field, but don't come to the office because of the anticipated demonstrations and crowds on Monday.

The FKING LIBERALS in CA have FKED UP PARADISE....

In the 1930s there were roadblocks at the CA border to prevent the Okies escaping from the Dust Bowl from entering CA...

The problem with these Liberals is that they don't realize they are fking things up for themselves as well. but with their mentality they just think more taxes, more legislation and more govt will solve the problem.

Meanwhile you have White Flight and Businesses leaving in droves...that means the people producing wealth are going to make someplace else wealthy...while CA slips into a Socialist Heaven where everybody is working for the govt or is on welfare...

I guess it must be the weather in CA that makes everybody so complacent...or the water or something that breeds this kind of insanity...

Taking Monday off. Gonna travel this weekend and buy me an extra birth certificate. When the "amnesty" comes going to get on line with some old utility bills and get a green card.

Figure if I ever get laid off, I won't want to wreck my credit with a healthcare issue. And the second job? It does not bring in much, but why not get a second SS check when I retire? Extra drivers licence is nice too. Maybe I will sponsor some "family" in a few years - there will be cash to be made in that.

The law? Who cares? That is for suckers and chumps.

Well, I know of several folks who have left...I'm not far behind.
Setting up to sell my business and property.
.
Re: Hispanic politicians...more are presently staging to run.
They'll be elected, no doubt...it's all about the numbers, boys.
.
Aside: I called the local Kalifornia DMV office yesterday to make an appt.
Very first words - surprise, in English - were:
"We want to wish everyone a happy and safe Cinco de Mayo."
Then the same message in Spanish.
.
Amazing!...you can't get away from it out here.
Supermarket (Safeway) announcements in Spanish, even.
Coming to a state near you.

I will be spending and looking for businesses that are closed for the day, closed to me forever, and that is a long time.

It seems to me that elected representatives take an oath of office. If indeed they do, would promoting violation of state and federal laws violate that oath? I am thinking yes.

I wonder how they would treat all the legal workers not paying taxes for a year?

Hopefully there will be some websites that track which businesses stayed open and which closed, etc..

Wouldn't it be awesome if there were severe economic consequences from this, the non-marching majority protesting w/ their wallets? We can only hope....

Now the stupid a$$ liberal media on KNBC is calling it "the great american boycott".
It isn't great and and it surely isn't American.
It is anti-American and should be called the mexican walkout but that would require the media to tell us the thruth.
Instead they tell us what they want us to hear and how they want us to hear it, thereby extending their own political agenda. They took a page right out of the teacher's manual on this one.
