i am in tabs!

i used to cook my H in a small little spoon like that, then oil the hinges like the tin man!

Mulhollanddose 05-10-2006 01:36 PM

The handles are all dinged up and wobbly looking.

tabs 05-10-2006 01:46 PM

I know they are all dinged up and everything....but people will buy anything and at outragous prices if its considered to be "Tastefull"....

nostatic 05-10-2006 01:47 PM

better than tasting the less-educated...

CamB 05-10-2006 02:12 PM

considered to be "Tastefull"

In this instance, quite possibly a symptom of having too much money and time.

Well we are up to just about $5400 on the Spoons

sketchers356 05-13-2006 08:37 AM

Up to what on the girl?

bigchillcar 05-13-2006 08:54 AM

the girl's pretty high-maintenance..difficult to calculate, but she looks like she'll cost some poor guy plenty.. :D

Joeaksa 05-13-2006 09:05 AM

Sure glad that we saved Mothers "coin silver" spoons.

Way back in the early 1900's someone in the family took loads of silver dollars to the mint in KY and they melted them down. Gave them an ingot or three and they then took them to a man who made a set of silver spoons that have the "$" stamped on the back, showing that they were made out of "coin silver."

Who knows what they are worth but bet they are holding their value.

scottmandue 05-13-2006 09:15 AM

Actually I think they look pretty cool but I like that hand crafted looking stuff. However for the money I would rather have a nice used motorcycle.

Re: the girl... what is it they say? "Sure she is hot but somewhere some guy is sick of putting up with her crap".

Not that I'm bitter or anything like that...

no doubt...

OK we're up to $5800 with about 6 hours to go...

RickM 05-16-2006 11:43 AM

I guess if your last name begins with an S you'd be more prone to shelling out some clams for this set.

KevinG 05-16-2006 12:09 PM

To me it looks like something made in Jr High metal shop. They would make a great camping set though.

I guess I'm in need of tasteless education - I have no idea how to lay out an 11 piece place setting, much less how and when to use them.

Mulhollanddose 05-16-2006 12:13 PM

"The Silversmith to the Stars", his customers include Steven Spielberg, Paul Newman, Cher, Candice Bergen, and many others. The spoons have a simple but elegant appearance and are quite weighty. The handles have a hammered texture with a stylized "S" at the top, while the bottoms are smooth on the serving side but hammered on the backs. Marked on the back, "Allan Adler-A Handhammered Sterling". A very impressive.

Gotta love socialists. Power to the people man!

tabs 05-16-2006 02:43 PM

Lets also not forget...Errol Flynn, Clark Gable and Frank Sinatra as clients..
