Divide fresh strawberries into two groups, the best looking ones you slice and set aside. The uglier ones you put in a bowl and mix with vanilla ice cream. Use a potato masher to make a beautiful pulpy strawberry sauce.

The shortcake is simply Bisquick mixed with some sugar and more milk than usual. (Soft dough), then dropped onto a baking sheet. Do not roll it out.

Put the baked shortbread in the bottom of a BIG bowl. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Cover it with your crushed strawberry sauce then top it with sliced strawberries. Oh yeah, baby!

When you make potato salad, put in some celery seed it really makes the potato salad and only use real mayonnaise.

Funny you mention Strawberry Shortcake. Today, I sat on our company's front steps, 68F, sunny - few wispy cirrus about a zillion feet out, gentle 3 knot wind coming from the NW, the smell of fresh cut grass in the air - proceeded to enjoy my 20min long Strawberry Shortcake dessert in perfect weather. Life is good!
