PITA iTunes issue

Can anyone answer this before I spend a lifetime on the Itunes website...

LAst night I loaded in an album, Queensryche's "Empire". I can't find it on my ipod by band name. I have Queen and Queens of the Stoneage, but no Queensryche. I can find it via the album name and via the recently played, but not by band name. I have a few other tunes that I can think of that are like that. What gives? Anyone know?

Also, has anyone ever tried to load in REM's Automatic for the People. I tried twice and it played all sorts of giberish. All the music was garbled. Weird.

try to find in the library in you computer then select all the songs and change the artist name. If you can't find it in the library try to located in the music file C:\Documents and Settings\user name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

cue twilight zone music...

Did you have a network connection when you ripped the disc? iTunes looks online for the database to determine the album metadata. If it doesn't find it, it will either leave it blank or sometimes put the wrong info in.

Don't know what to say about the REM album unless the disc has some physical problem. I don't think Apple has anything in particular against Michael Stipe...

That's the thing... I can find it by album name and the artist name is there, just doesn't show up in the master list of all artists. This on my other computer, so I will check what Yellowbird said tommorow.

RE: REM, maybbe my AFTP died, it's really old, put plays fine on the home stereo.

Man!!! I've been playing that cd in my car that past several days. Those guys were fantastic.

I remember when they came out with their 4 song EP back in the mid-80's. A buddy and I both bought it, took them back to our respective rooms to play them. We both came running out to tell the other just how cool this cassette was!

Queensryche rocks!!! well....rocked, at least... :(

iTunes has a nasty habit of moving stuff around and will put songs/albums under "Unknown Artist" if it can't identify what it is. This drove me crazy esp. when I imported or converted 'non commercial' releases i.e. live concerts, which of course iTunes can't figure out automatically. I am fairly sure this even happened to me after I'd disabled the "keep my library organized" option so I ended up making my iTunes music folder read-only.

Wow! I found a song I purchased a while back by following Yellowbird's advice. Thanks dude. I thought I had been ripped off by the iTunes Music Store.

Now you need to open iTunes>Files>Add folder to library> (sellect the target folder in the above location)>open

and that's all
