Car Show in Michigan
Hi Everyone,
The Sloan Museum in Flint,Michigan will be having its car show at the end of June. This is a pretty big show. I plan on attending and I will most likely put both my 911 and my mercedes in the show. I have invited the PCA and the MBCA as well. Here is the website: http://www.sloanmuseum.com/car_shows.html I hope some of you can be there. The Sloan Show is always fun. Mike ![]() |

On July 14th (a Friday) in Ann Arbor there is the Rolling Sculpture Car Show.
http://www.mainstreetannarbor.org/newsdetail.asp?id=20 http://www.arborweb.com/cg/t1401.html Also in Milford every Sunday/Sunday evening between Memorial Day and Labor Day in the Baker's restaurant parking lot across from the Dairy Queen on Milford road a few miles from the I-96 and Pontiac Trail intersection there is a casual get together. Mostly American metal, a few Shelby Cobra's and Italian stuff thrown in. It's gown over the years, sometimes live music, vendors and prizes/awards given out.

None of the local MI car shows seem like they are too interested in my Porsche. They seem to concentrate on "Detroit iron". Big surprise there... I hope they welcome you guys warmly...

Last couple of years there has been a 356 and a 911 SC at the Sloan Show. My mercedes got a lot of attention last year.

To give you guys a better idea of the Ann Arbor show, there are three wheeled Davis's, BMW Isseta's and so-called "art-cars" with things like hundreds of little rubber lizzards glued to them. Us townies take pride in the weird and wonderful.
As the show gets larger we have lost a little of that character. However I'm doing something about that. This year instead of the 911 I'm bringing the Zebra car. And I might bring the hovercraft if they let me. ![]() ![]()

http://ypsilanti.org/events.html I was thinking the name had something to do with Frog Island like the old Jazz festival event llthough it's on the streets of Depot Town in Ypsi. That one is mostly American hot rods, I'm not sure it's even listed in that link above. This looks cool. http://www.ypsiautoheritage.org/ Quote:

The Ann Arbor show is the coolest one I've ever been to. I may have to head down for it!

To get my fix and avoid muscle crazed crowds I just stop in at Waterford Hill when ever I see cool cars on Dixie Hwy with numbers on their cars. Always works, lots of exotic stuff on the right days. Also, every Wed night (starting at like 3:30 in the afternoon) at a Kmart on Dixie there is a BIG gathering of cars and bikes, fills a lot of a big parking lot. Not my scene though.
-Jeremy PS, I think it is the Sloan that has a candy apple red Chevette, really cool!. My son's preschool class has had several feild trips there.
