How do I know if my PC burns DVD's?
 
It burns CD's but???? Windows XP.
It plays DVD's.

It should say on the front of the tray; something like DVD/RW+/- . Further, you can go to the hardware specs (in the control panel) and check it out. The whole list of type, manufacturer and so forth can be fetched to your screen.

Not as easy as a Mac, but similarly detailed.
