I have a buddy who used to let his sons play "astronaut" in the back of his Cessna. After having them unbuckle, he would pull up nose high then push the nose over to give them a couple seconds of "zero G" time. I laughed my @ss off the first time I saw them hovering up by the ceiling giggling like crazy!

I had the good fortune of seeing Bob Hoover perform at some airshows when I was a kid - simply amazing! He happened to be Yeager's chase plane pilot during Yeager's record breaking flight.

As much as Bob would claim otherwise, he would appear to have immense talent, a sick sense of humor and big brass ones.

Bob Hoover- Amazing pilot. I also have had the privilige of seeing his Shrike routine. Power on, power off. Dead stick landing on one wheel. He's got to be one of the world's greatest, ever. He flew his P-51 as pace airplane at Reno for several years. |

Great pilot...

Great sence of humor, I read in Chuck Yeager's book about how a pretty young flight instructor taught at the local airport. Hoover went and took lessons from her, playing coy, and the day he was to solo he invited Yeager and a couple of buds out to watch his 'solo'. Once she got out and let him go, he proceeded to do loops and other aerobatics.......

I love airplanes and stunts, love carnival rides and scaring my self in my 911, and have never been motion sick. So, I'm not passing judgement.
But I can tell you that, regardless of how much talent this pilot thinks he has, my grandfather, a career bush pilot out of West Yellowstone Montana, would have shook his head in disgust and walked away.

I've been fortunate enough to see Bob Hoover a number of times. Energy Management - says it all.
