Anyone have a classic Pick up
 

I need a pick up, seems like I am borrowing one each month, so was thinking maybe, I would find a classic ford or Chevy.

Anyone have one?

Anyone know a good website for classic trucks?

It is for Chevy and GMC's.

I bought a 95 Chevy short bed Silverado new, and love it.
It has the 350 V8 with throttle body injection, so if you romp on it it still has that nice sound of a carburetor sucking air :D. It comes to life pretty well for just a stock truck.
From what I've been told by the younger guys who eyeball it their hard to find with the 350, most had V6's or the smaller 8's.

It isn't a classic, but it's getting there, and they are cheap to buy.
I have friends that have gotten up to 250K on them before the motor and trans gave up.

Easy to drive/park, nice riding, and not to bad on gas. I've got 17mpg on trips up to Big Bear.
It's so bad even a salvage title won't stop it. Some hair ball who was lost on drugs tagged it in front of the house a few years ago.

My first truck was a 1948 Chevy. Very cool truck. 216 straight six, three on the tree tranny.

Current truck is a 2001 3/4t 4x4. I suppose it will be a classic, someday.....

I would love to find a single cab in decent shape, most are rusted and in bad shape, unless you want to drop 20K.

My father has a 69 Chevy C-20 Longhorn with 38K original miles. It is white with red interior 396/400turbotranny. Currently undergoing a frame-off. He bought it in 1980 at an estate sale--it had an alaskan adjustable camper on it and 15K. used it for hunting for the next 10 years, then it sat for another 10, untill he decided to get it restoe'd. There is no timeline on it--the cab has been redone, the bed, new oak flooring, motor has been given a quick once-over--currently awaiting brakes/lines/mc, etc. and re-assembly. It is a nice truck, and the Longhorn/396 combo is fairly rare. Once done it will probably be a weekend/show truck.

Not a pickup, but I use it to haul lots stuff. 1960 Willys Wagon.

If you are going to be different, think Mopar with a CUMMINGS Diesel in it! That is what I want someday...

Good thinking Joe...my '77 Powerwagon is running a warmed over 360. Think 10 mpg highway, and it eats premium.

A very good friend has an older one with the Cummings and loves it. I borrowed it for a month or so and fell in love. Heavy and not real fast but that Cummins will run forever and if you could get the traction would climb a telephone pole, so its something to look at.

Guy who takes care of my house when I am gone is starting up a Bio-Diesel plant here in town. He swears by the Dodge and Ford diesels and shortly I may have a good cheap source for fuel. Hmmm, might start looking for a PU myself!

Damb, beat me to it!

I've owned 49, 51,52,65,69,70 Chevys, plus a few more I can't remember what year 52,53,54,2 56,65,69,74 Fords, plus a quite a few more later models, and now have owned a 60 El Camino for many years. All rust buckets, but my rust buckets. Someone gave me a 57 Chevy recently. There's probably more, but I just can't remember. Nothing ever newer than 10 years old. Always having big plans for restoration that never happens. I'm down to about 11-12 vehicles/junk/lawn ornaments now. Some people collect works of art, I collect junk cars and trucks. My neighbors love me. Keeping alive the Southern tradition/image.
