Carrier sinks in Gulf of Mexico...

To make a reef, of course...

Nice documentation/pictures.

They sank the USS America last year - sad.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_America_(CV-66)
Quote:
After the completion of the tests, America was sunk in a controlled scuttling on 14 May 2005 at approximately 1130, although the sinking was not publicized until six days later. At the time, no warship of that size had ever been sunk, and effects were closely monitored; theoretically the tests would reveal data about how supercarriers respond to battle damage. The ship rests about 6000 ft. below the Atlantic Ocean surface, roughly 60 miles off the North Carolina coast.

Now, if we can just get them to sink the rest of these tools of mass murder, we'll be lightyears ahead of where we are now on the militarist reduction scale.

Yes. With American military personnel on them, as you have stated before.

Without our military you WOULD NOT have the freedoms you have today that's for sure. It's a shame people like you live here in America. If you really don't like it that much then maybe you should move to some country that fits your lifestyle.

If we didn't have a military our Country could have been lost during these wars for example:

WWI
WWII
Pearl Harbor
World Trade Center
Not to mention any other time we were attacked.

If we didn't have a military these other countries WOULD NOT have stopped with just a couple of buildings or some boats. They would've kept coming and instead of sitting in front of your computer cutting and pasting and pushing your politics in your cozy little home you would be either collecting guns to fight back or you may already be dead or under some lunitic's power with NO freedoms.

All I'm saying is you guys should be ashamed of yourselves for talking like that especially right after Memorial Day. Show some respect.

Does anyone know if this is a photoshop picture?

Snopes says it's FALSE.

Ummm. That snopes article has nothing to do with sinking a carrier.

Plus, the L.A. Times says it's real.

Seems like a waste. I would think the salvage value of that ship would be enormous. Think how many cars you could build with that much steel.

My Brother flew off off the USS Oriskany. Sad to see the old gal go but at least they are doing something productive with her.

Not when you factor in the cost of removing all the asbestos the ship contains. Asbestos in harmless underwater

Yeah, the joke is you.

Bill, don't even respond to Pat, just ignore him and maybe he will go away.

Opps! I quoted Pat which I shouldn't have done, but he left the door open and I had to close it in his face.
