Will It Ever Stop

Washington State
Governmental waste at its best, telling us how their making every dollar count. It would be interesting to see how much of our tax dollars have been wasted planning, building and putting up these signs, I’ve spotted about six or seven of these signs in my area not to mention the other ones that say watching your nickel at work , or something.
Any body know what the costs are associated with these signs.

Can't seem to get pic to post, just keeps coming in black.
Any thoughts?

It's realy bad when they put up signs that nobody can read:)

jester911 05-29-2006 12:04 PM

Everything is dark. That is a very bad sign.

jorian 05-29-2006 12:06 PM

If I guessed right, we have those signs up here as well. My shop has made some in the past. Supply and install cost is about $ 600 per sign. The ones I'm talking about are 4'x 8' plywood, reflective vinyl, on two posts.

Reminds me of the propaganda I get in the mail every now and then that extolls the virtues of the latest sitting govt' and what a tremendous job they are doing.

Your pic is too big. Shrink it down.

Will it ever stop? yo I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle

The US government printing office creates thousands of brochures and pamphlets telling Americans how to live; none under Constitutional authorization, nor are they worth a bucket of warm spit.

opps had it backwards it was making every dollar count.
Edited orginal post to fix
Tried to chop pic down. see if this hack job works.

Now you wouldn't expect your tax dollars go for something responsible would you? At the current rate the children won't be able to read the signs that were paid for by dollars that should have been in the school system.

nostatic 05-29-2006 01:59 PM

dollars can't count. If they are trying to teach them to count, that is a monumental waste of money.

But on a broader note, should the government "make" a dollar do anything? What about free will? Won't anyone think of the dollars?!?

red-beard 05-29-2006 02:18 PM

Free the dollars

I'm sure there's a research grant being spent right now on this.

"Broader Note"? Isn't that sexist?

pwd72s 05-29-2006 03:37 PM

They can't count ballots in Washington State. It's foolish to expect them to count dollars...

Followa the money - my bet, somebody has a sweet gig with a sign company and is getting a nice state contract to produce that pork.

cashflyer 05-30-2006 10:45 AM

Making every dollar count? Sounds like slavery to me.

Yeah, I know. Still, I force my dollars on the "slave market" and trade them for more "stuff". I can't seem to help myself.

WolfeMacleod 05-30-2006 10:04 PM

And don't forget, us poor sobs in Seattle are still paying ofr a monorail that were were promised, but will NEVER GET. They spent millions of dollars just discussing it, then said "ahh, nevermind...but you still gota pay..."
