Trailer Tire Question I picked up a Zieman car trailer, it is a open bed style one (no center section so lighter weight) and I am going to replace all the tires on it. It has alumimum rims, and 225/65/15 tires on it. They look like radial car or truck tires, the only other marking is the rating "H" on them. On my old trailer, I always put trailer tires, but this size does not seem to be available in a trailer tire. So I have the quesiton... Can you put car/truck tires on a trailer? Jim |

Do not put passenger tires on a trailer because of the load rating. Tire Rack has some good info. Look for Goodyear Marathon. When in doubt increase the load rating. |

except the Goodyear Marathon does not come in the right size. Plus load rating is not much of an issue, it will be carrying the trailer and a 2200 lb car, on a double axel trailer, so the loading is minimal I would think. jim |

Yes, as long as you understand they are not rated for higher loads and heat levels. |
