Well I only have 4 us patents, All electronic controller related, a BSEE, an MSEE with minors in nuc physics, retired at 49 with over 6 figure income. Some close friends have over 200 patents, and they agree with me on scientific matters (not on political). Many more years at ongoing ed programs at a large number of US universitys.I once spent over one year writing a paper on DH semiconductor laser diodes. Thats over one year, dedicated to just two differential rate equations. The people who really understand the Physics, the ones that I listen to, do these kind of equations like you and I do 2 plus 2 equals 4. But its not just the equations, a lot of orential types (PC for chinks) can do them like they are childs play. Its UNDERSTANDING the equations that counts. Thats where theres a shortage of people of any race. Only one in the world, every 100 years or so, can dwelve into the real meaning of the universe. Those are the people to listen to. At this monent in time there is a shortage of this kind of person.

How do you find this person. Well they write papers, they make sense, ie the work they do agrees with all known work, and they present something new. Something they can back up with equations, data, derivations, you know the normal stuff you would expect from a world leader of knowledge.

What they do NOT do is to present data and stuff that counterdicts all known scientific work, stuff that dosen't hold up to the most basic challenge, ie say conservation of energy. Above all they are not democrats.

In my experience, the "smart" guys have the hardest time grasping the simple truths and their money is just a stumbling block.

My experience is that the smart guys have all the money. I do.

trekkor 06-04-2006 09:41 PM

When the money is thrown into the streets, then what?

So, you don`t even have a PhD, but you have friends who understand equations, and you beleive that money is a measure of intelligence. Okay, thanks for your crapolla credentials. I am 15 years younger, and I have more patents than you. And when I get to your age, I will try not to be as arrogant as you are.

Hey, could you give me the reference of that paper. I can pull it right away from the University server. I am really curious to see what an equation that takes six months to UNDERSTAND looks like ;).

Here is a little something I whipped up in a few days. Maybe snowbud needs to go back and work on another degree or ask one of his smart friends for some math help...

The answer to the question is snake oil. I don't know what the rest of this thread is talking about.

You clearly haven't worked with anything complicated. A couple of "simple" differential rate equations can be the foundation for very very complicated processes. Understanding the meanings of the equations is a whole lot more than the math itself, it means interperting the physical relationships that the equations represent. Take a look at a typical rate equation for a DH laser diode. How many electrons are injected for each photon produced? An RF frequency of 500 MHz to 3 GHz is produced by the laser when it is stimulated, why, how does it happen, how does it work? These "self pulsations" cannot be explained by normal equations. The frequency of the rf is proportional to the ammount of carriers injected, again how and why?? Simple nuff, now give me an answer.

If you can derive Schrodinger's wave equations in less than an hour you have passed a test that I tool 35 years ago in an advanced nuclear physics course. If you think that these equations are trival and someone cannot spend a lifetime on them, you don't have a clue.

Do a search for "self pulsations in DH semiconductor lasers" by R. J. Frost You should find it as a published thesis at SDSU. Also do a search for "self pulsations in DH semiconductor lasers" for more info.

Actually I don't know why I am bothering with someone who would question conservation of energy. Anyone who does so is an idiot, fool, to put it mildly. Certainly not a scientist.

Lubemaster---BS WTF has this got to do with anything??? IE don't forget the KY gel when sticking it your boyfriend?

M.D. Holloway 06-05-2006 09:20 PM

snowbud - your funny.

Yeh, I try harder.

Yep, you`re a tool, and a funny one for that matter. And for the record, I never questioned the conservation of energy. I`ll look for your paper, Snowman-Frost. I know why you bite too...;)

Hows it work then.

It appears this guy is holding a burner, that he then places on his hand, and is able to hold it.

I find holding something more than about 13deg uncomfortable, so at that time i'd say its under 140ish. (maybe he is tougher then me)

Then he puts that flame to a glass ball and it goes red hot, pretty quickly.

Be Pen and show us how Teller does it?

So Jack, why are you acting like such an arsehole? Didn't your folks ever teach you how to play nice with others? You certainly seem to present yourself as a real blowhard and a grumpy SOB. Keep this up and I'm gonna start disliking you.

BTW - For the record I'm not homosexual but many men do find me attractive. KY is some pretty good shyt when you wanna try the dirty stuff on your wife/GF! I only wish I had that product line...

Moneyguy1 06-06-2006 11:00 AM

It is sad....

Some people with intelligence and wealth handle it in an adult manner. Some people, because they are apparently inwardly insecure, have to constantly "remind" everyone else how superior they are to the "masses". These are the most unfulfilled and unhappiest kinds of people I have ever known, and thankfully, they are a minority.

What I do in my life is mine. I do not require the adoration of others to shore up my self worth.

snow, I will not resort to calling you names, it ain't my style. But I will say that, despite your claimed wealth and accomplishments, I would far rather be as I am than be you.

next time we won't use any KY...

Your the one that mentioned lubes in the first place.
