Anyone know Texarkana?
After about a year of searching, I think my wife has finally found a job she will like. It is with a small company located in Texarkana, Texas. We are wondering if anyone has dealt with realtors and land in and around Texarkana? Move date appears to be in early July for her, I'm starting a job search in the area now.
Now, gotta sell the new home and ~17 remaining acres near Waco, Texas... |
I go to Texarkana a couple of times a year on business. Was
there a couple of weeks ago. Really nice area, I go to the Red River Army Depot. Lots of military there. It is really growing, still has the old Texas downtown courthouse circle. Good luck with everything ! Chuck |
No more Groesbeck Goats?
|
There is a very active auto-x scene there...We live an hour south in Shreveport/Bossier City. Let us know when you're coming, you'll have to meet up with us on our Saturday runs. Pretty active PCA and SCCA groups here, but mainly a "wine & cheeser" scene than racing...Great folks however.

Mark,
No more Goats...it's a sad day! Ah well, The Houston Hurricane left right after I left Houston so who knows! Roux, I used to live in a little place called Barksdale. You might have heard of it? I need to do some DE or other such things. I'll drop a line when we are heading that way! Now, for me to find a job and us to find a place to live and sell our current home... |
good REM song...
20,000 miles to an oasis 20,000 years will I burn 20,000 chances I wasted Waiting for the moment to turn I would give my life to find it I would give it all Catch me if I fall Walking through the woods I have faced it Looking for something to learn 30,000 thoughts have replaced it, Never in my time to return I would give my life to find it I would give it all Catch me if I fall All alone Waiting to fall 40,000 stars in the evening Look at them fall from the sky 40,000 reasons for living 40,000 tears in your eye I would give my life to find it I would give it all Catch me if I fall Catch me if I fall |

LOVE Barksdale!!!! I tought at a middle school 1 mile off the north end of the runway...was a great sound/feeling...As it is now, we're living about 5 miles north.

Quoting songs eh?
When I was a little bitty baby my momma would rock me in the cradle In them old cotton fields back home It was down in Louisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana In them old cotton fields back home And when them cotton balls get rotten, you can't pick very much cotton In them old cotton fields back home It was down in Louisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana In them old cotton fields back home It might sound a little bit funny, but you don't make very much money In them old cotton fields back home It was down in Louisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana In them old cotton fields back home... |

Let it all hang out 'cause we got a run to make. The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there's beer in Texarcana. And we'll bring it back no matter what it takes. |
As soon as I read the thread title, this song popped into my head:
Rosanna's down in Texarkana Wanted me to push her broom Sweet Eileen's in Abilene She forgot I hung the moon And Allison's in Galveston Somehow lost her sanity And Dimple's who now lives in Temple's Got the law looking for me All my ex's live in Texas And Texas is the place I'd dearly love to be But all my ex's live in Texas And that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee |
