jaguar E-type fans take a look
If anyone has interest, or has a friendship with someone who would be interested, in a one-owner '70 E-Type roadster with under 10k original miles in preservation class condition, email me. All books, records, original tires, plug wires, etc. It's brand new but hasn't been started in a few years. No body work or rust whatsover - ever - and I mean that.
I've known the car since I was a boy and I'm helping the family sell it. It won a couple national preservation class awards like 20 years ago and its just been sitting in storage ever since. Thanks. |
No pics? You should know better.

You know, I don't have any. It's been in storage for years. It's silver with the black top and dark red leather. Wood steering wheel and a million toggle switches.

Did someone say Jag pictures?

ok...so the car is free, we just need to get a tow truck up to upstate New York, right?
|
I'm sure it's a case of "if you have to ask...".

Well, they're having it appraised. A '70 isn't the most desireable year but it is a roadster and it is probably one of the most original rust free ones on planet Earth, so it has some value. My guess is well north of $50k but who knows.

I need a picture, any picture.

When I have a chance to go to the storage place, I'll take some photographs. It's beautiful.

Most of the people that have seen the car agree that, at least, it'll need to have the brakes refreshed and all the fluids carefully flushed. It was put up for storage, not just turned off and let to sit. I don't think it will need "restored" - in the way we all use that word - at all. It doesn't have any dry rot anywhere except in the tires, which are original. All of the hoses, etc. were fine the last time I saw it in 2004. It was very well, even religiously, maintained. This was the sort of guy who lubricated speedo drive cables on schedule. Although it has been stored, I think it was last driven only about 10 years ago.

Dad had a few XKE's. Beautiful cars, perhaps the sweetest straight six ever screwed together, tragic electrical systems

I emailed a collector I know in France. Although he might have drifted into old Aston Martins now since his last purchase was one from California. I will PM you if I hear from him. Ian |
Thanks guys. The family is dear to me, in fact my Volvo P1800"S" was among the cars this gentleman purchased new. When I bought the Volvo from them a few years ago, it too was original and had only 32k on the clock.

No go from the collector in France . . . "Ian bonjour, It looks nice and interesting ... but I stopped buying and selling old timers, I just keep my two cars, Aston DB4 for regular use and Jaguar C type for the summer time only" He also has a Maserati Cambiocorsa Coupé as his daily . . . Ian |
