Hmmm, looks like a "Walking Tall" remake.

craigster59 06-07-2006 11:07 AM

Are you filming "No Country for Old Men"?

dhoward 06-07-2006 11:08 AM

Cool.

I hope they remembered to take the lens cap off...

I wish I had your job, Hugh. When things blow up in my line of work, it means long hours until they get fixed. (Of course I'm talking about things like servers and databases...not quite as cool to watch explode.)

RickM 06-07-2006 12:53 PM

Which prop was supposed to cause that fireball?

KNS 06-07-2006 12:54 PM

You seem to have an awesome job, I would love to work in film. I do wish that Hollywood would put out some good scripts instead of just resorting to blowing everything up (or sequel/remake, etc).

Its the old gas pump and tossed cigarette gag and it catches on fire a biker bar, which enrages the bad bikers and they then put their wrath on Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, and John Travolta.

Like Craig asked......Waall maybe not Martin Lawrence

HughR - Tim A and Martin L seem like they would be pretty good guys but John T seems like he has gott'n a lil wacky with the spiritual stuff. Did you see anything or was he pretty cool as well?

BTWFWIW - I prefer the blow-up scenes over the sappy stuff anyday.

nostatic 06-07-2006 03:18 PM

oh god, that sounds like a really bad film.

Generally, I don't talk to the talent. All three of them were very conversational with the crew, which generally tells me they don't have their heads totally stuck up their asses. Travolta's goons pushed me off of the sidewalk once about 25 years ago when I was in Santa Monica and he and (I think) Olivia Newton John walked by on the way to lunch oblivious to that fact. I think he was a lot more of a jerk/stuckup ********* then. I don't follow talent at all, but it seems to me that he had a real big dry spell for a number of years until "Pulp Fiction" kind of brought him back from the retirement home.
