This I agree with...feel the same.

Is there anyone here that actually is putting their hope in the next president to solve just the problems in this country?

It would be nothing short of miraculous if somehow, after all of the years of failure, that the needs of the citizens were met.

At what point does the population accept the fact that human rule is not capable of success?

What other possibility is there? We HAVE to have humans run the govenrnment. Do you expect dog or chimps to do it? Everything you have was built by humans using the natural resources of the planet. What other chioce is there? We can't use the resources of Mars or the magic elves the live in the forest.

NOTHING at all gets done if humans don't do it. Good bad or indifferent, it is up to humans.

I think he is on to something.

Personal and Violent Crime, Murder, etc are all down in the FBI stats. Yet, with the 24/7 news cycle, it appears that the world is a much more dangerous place.

In the 1860's in the USA Civil War, battles would have tens of thousands of casualties in an hour. In Iraq AND Afghanistan, over almost 10 years, we have barely had 10,000 casualties. Admitted, those are occupations/counter insurgency and not real wars.

Again, by having it in our face day in, day out, hour by hour, it makes it seem much worse.

It's just the way they are at that moment in time.

I don't believe you can affect someone's perspective until you show them respect first.

Good points, completely agreed.

Those moments in time still define us.
