Bad Week for Hard-Line Democrats...

First the leftist fruit Rob Reiner's prop 81 goes down the toilet in CA, showing that even in CA, there is a limit to how much Marxist class-warfare crap the average voter can stomach. Then Bilbray wins and puts an end to the "culture of corruption" theme the Dems were counting on. And finally Al Zarqawi gets a 500 lb bomb for dessert after dinner at his (safe) house. It's always funny to watch the hard left's reaction to a positive development in the WOT... For example, via powerline:

It Isn't Only the Kidz

Earlier today, we noted the bizarre reactions of most of the Democrats who post at Democratic Underground to the news of Zarqawi's death. It would be easy to dismiss those comments as the ravings of a few fringe lunatics, except that there are so many of them. Actually, though, the DU posters aren't too far out of sync with some of their party's elected leaders, as the Washington Times notes in "Democrats call Zarqawi killing a stunt":

Some Democrats, breaking ranks from their leadership, today said the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in Iraq was a stunt to divert attention from an unpopular and hopeless war.

"This is just to cover Bush's [rear] so he doesn't have to answer" for Iraqi civilians being killed by the U.S. military and his own sagging poll numbers, said Rep. Pete Stark, California Democrat. "Iraq is still a mess -- get out."

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Ohio Democrat, said Zarqawi was a small part of "a growing anti-American insurgency" and that it's time to get out.

"We're there for all the wrong reasons," Mr. Kucinich said.

But, we're not allowed to question their "patriotism"...

I want to know how the DemocRATs explain the jubilation of Iraqis, at the death of Zarqawi. I thought he was an Iraqi hero (er, Jordanian) and he was a freedom loving fighter against the American devil aggressor? If I listened to Democrats I would believe the death of Zarqawi would be mourned throughout Iraq, and that new waves of violence would ensue...I thought the Iraqis hated us and wanted us out of the country?

Hmmmmmm...I guess the Democrats were full of *****.

The problem for the Dems is that the Far Laft has become "mainstream" in the Dem party: Pelosi, Kerry, Gore, Kennedy, Dean, etc. about as wacked-out as they come, and they ARE now the leadership of the party... I don't think most rank-and-file Dems want to acknowledge that fact...

The DEMONcrats have been scratching their heads for the last six years. I just wish they'd chill and actually say something worth commenting on, instead of toddling off in their pig headed direction (record skip....record skip....record skip....record skip.....record skip). Give us a freaking break.
