Annoying exchange with parts company...

I bet this doesn't happen with Pelican!

What would you guys do next? I clicked Buy Now on an Ebay store for a truck part. I then bailed-out of the online purchase due to the reasons explained below...

Dear Paul,
>>
>>
Greetings!
>>
Please provide us with the Sales Confirmation Number for us to mark your online order (eBay item number 8069641124) as paid.
>>
Thank you and have a great day.

Sincerely,

I won't be purchasing any parts.

The ebay ad claimed free shipping, however at checkout $17 was being added for shipping. I called your 800 number and after talking to 2 different people, I was transferred to a 3rd. The 3rd person had a voicemail message saying they were "at lunch".
>>
I have purchased my parts already from another supplier who was a little more "on the ball".
>>
Thanks though...

Why would I leave positive feedback when my experience was less than positive?

****************************************

Dear Paul,

Greetings!

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please leave a positive feedback for us to
cancel the order. That is the only way to cancel the order. We will also
leave you with a psoitive feedback.

Thank you and have a great day.

Sincerely,

What's my next move?

At least they are nicely incompetent.

Polite little stinkers.....

jester911 06-09-2006 10:31 AM

File a dispute with ebay. Leave the feedback that is appropriate. Ebay will usually investigate and will remove the transaction.

file negative feedback and provide ebay with transcripts of all communication with seller. Also call credit card company to refuse the charge. Also call BB bureau.

Register for VWVortex and post this experience in full detail in The Car Lounge. Your experience will find its way onto HUNDREDS of sites from there, not just VW related.

Ruin this company.

he did not pay it reads to me...but he needs to file a feedback extortion complaint against them

Right- I never completed the payment fields. I think it's funny that they think I'm simple enough to believe their order entry system is somehow linked to Ebay's feedback mechanism.

I wasn't aware that you can submit feedback extortion complaints. I just did that- let's see what happens.

Last thing I would do is to leave positive feedback. If anything leave a neutral and explain that the shipping is not free. Course Ebay will do nothing. They are jerks.

pay the shipping, leave negative feedback with this thread's URL as the "feedback," or perhaps another URL re-explaning the situation, without a request for input, just that these guys are crooks and everyone should beware.

Think of it as a nice signpost for the rest of the world to navigate with.

$17 is money well spent for the truth to get out.

Remember that once you leave feedback for them, it leaves them open to do the same with you. If you do nothing on the feedback usually they will not do anything to screw up your feedback. If you already have a negative or neutral in your history, then fire away!

you can leave negative feedback, just leave it on the last possible day to do so. this way they are unlikely to be able to do the same.

The whole ebay feedback system is a scam

carnutzzz 06-10-2006 06:17 AM

Yeah- I knew I was in trouble when they answered the phone "Hello?". I had to ask them if I had the right place. I've considered leaving them a negative, but it would hurt me more than them. I only have 11/11 positives- they have something in the 5 digits.

Oh well- everyone reading this has the name of the business and can stay away.
